December 5, 2007 -- Former Italian President says 9/11 was an "inside job"
Former Italian President and Prime Minister Francesco Cossiga, who helped set up the CIA's Operation Gladio ("stay behind" network, which relied on a group of neo-fascist paramilitary operatives to carry out false flag operations in Italy that were to be blamed on the Communists, has created a firestorm in Italy by telling an Italian newspaper that 9/11 was an inside job carried out by elements of the CIA and Mossad. Cossiga said, "[Bin Laden supposedly confessed] to the Qaeda September [attack] to the two towers in New York [claiming to be] the author of the attack of the 11, while all the [intelligence services] of America and Europe ... now know well that the disastrous attack has been planned and realized from the CIA American and the Mossad with the aid of the Zionist world in order to put under accusation the Arabic countries in order to induce the western powers to take part ... in Iraq [and] Afghanistan."
Furthermore, Cossiga, who is known to have close connections to NATO and Italian and Western intelligence officials, said that a new Osama Bin Laden tape that threatens former right-wing Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is a fake produced at Berlusconi's Mediasat TV studios in Milan. Cossiga said the tape fraud was discovered by intelligence officials in the Palazzo Chigi, the headquarters for Italian intelligence. President Cossiga's comments came in an interview with the large Italian newspaper, Corriere della Serra.
Cossiga faced impeachment after Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti revealed the nature of Gladio, originally created to engage in guerrilla warfare and sabotage in the event of a Soviet invasion and occupation of Italy. However, the network soon began engaging in false flag terror attacks that were blamed on Italian leftists. Cossiga was Interior Minister in 1978 during the kidnapping of former Italian Prime Minister Aldo Moro. Cossiga resigned after Moro was found assassinated. The Moro affair is thought to have been a Gladio-sponsored event designed to blame the Italian Red Brigades. Moro had been seeking an accommodation between the Christian Democrats and Communists. Cossiga, ironically, is the cousin of longtime Italian Communist leader Enrico Berlinguer.
Cossiga's comments are the latest from former government officials throughout Europe and the United States who believe 9/11 was an inside job. Cossiga said the false flag 9/11 attacks were designed to be blamed on the Arab countries in order to justify attacks against Afghanistan and Iraq.
The revelations concerning Berlusconi's involvement in creating a fake Bin Laden tape also calls into question the other Bin Laden video releases, including recent tapes "discovered" on the web by the Israel-connected Search for International Terrorist Entities (SITE) in Washington, DC. Berlusconi's fingerprints are also on the infamous forged Niger "yellowcake" documents that first originated in Rome. The revelations that top Italian intelligence officials know that 9/11 was an inside job may also bring about a new look at the assassination in Baghdad of Italian SISMI intelligence's number two man, Major General Nicola Calipari, by US troops during the general's hostage rescue mission.
Interestingly, Cossiga's comments came shortly after similar remarks from Roman Catholic Bishop Richard Williamson of the Society of St. Pius X, who, on November 4, 2007, told a Bedford, Massachusetts that forces inside the U.S. government plotted 9/11 and they may be planning another.
The Italian and Vatican intelligence services maintain extremely close contact with one another.
