Foreign Language Proficiency Testing will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at John Ehret High School in Building 100

French I and Spanish I 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

Spanish II ONLY 12:00 p.m.

French II and Spanish II 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

NOTE: REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT GUIDELINES

•There is a $20 testing fee per exam.

•Students who take both tests will pay $40.00 to the counselor when submitting the permission slip.

•Using the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam Roster the counselors will list eligible students; send rosters to

no later than Thursday, January 11, 2018.

•Counselors will file original permission slips in cum folders, file one copy with the school and send one copy home to the

parent.

•The school will reimburse the Foreign Language Department (Account # 421) the amount for the total number of students

tested in their school the week of January 15, 2018.

All beginner level ESL students will not be required to pay for the examinations. Indicate the Beginner Level students on your Foreign Language Proficiency Exam Roster. Students who arrive and their name is not on the roster will not be allowed to take the exam. No refunds will be given if the student does not show up to take the exam.

•Students who are on the roster must present a current valid picture ID (school, driver’s license, passport) at the

testing site on the morning of the testing. NO EXCEPTIONS.

•Lunch is not provided.

•Transportation will be provided for EB students from Bonnabel HS at 7:00 a.m. the morning of the test.

•Students will not be admitted once testing has begun.

•Students must dress modestly; uniforms are not required.

•No cell phones are allowed.

•Credit can be earned for both Levels, French I and II or Spanish I and II

•Students must sign up in advance using the attached PROFICIENCY EXAM REQUEST FORM.

•Deadline for registration is Thursday, January 11, 2018

•Exam results will be designated PASS/Did Not Pass

­ Students shall not be allowed to take proficiency examinations in courses previously completed in high school,

or at a level below which they have completed.

­ Students who PASS will be awarded 1 credit. No grade is awarded for calculation of the G.P.A.

­ Students who do not pass do not receive an F on their report card for the course; they are simply not awarded

credit.

­ Students who do not pass the exam must take the course to earn credit.

­ Results will be sent to the corresponding principal and counselors to be included on each student’s transcripts.
