3. AMENDMENT OF ACTS

3.1 INTERNAL AUDIT ACT REPEAL ACT 2017

At yesterday’s sitting, the Internal Audit Act Repeal Bill

was debated and passed. The bill reflect the short title as

Internal Audit Act Repeal Act, 2016 instead of 2017 and

was read as such into the record.

The Chairperson of the Finance Portfolio Committee

subsequently wrote to the Speaker in terms of Rule 231

which allows for the Speaker to approve the correction of

an error after a bill has been passed but before it is sent to

the Premier for assent.

The correction does not affect the meaning nor the

intention of the bill as passed and I have approved the

implementation of the requested correction.

The correct title of the Act is therefore reading as

“KwaZulu-Natal Internal Audit Act Repeal Act, 2017.”
