IampleasedtoreportthattheCoyoteCrisisCollaborative-adisasterpreparednessnonprofitorganizationinArizona(the"Collaborative")-inconjunctionwithschooldistrictemergencymanagementrepresentatives,lawenforcement,parents,andothers,completedproductionofavideoforteachersofferinginformationonwhattodoinanActiveShooterincident.EntitledActiveShooterActionPlan(ASAP),thevideoisintendedtoencourageteachers(includingsubstituteteachers)tounderstandtheirschool'splanforashootingincidentandtospurdiscussionthatwillenableteacherstothinkthroughcomplexitiesthatmayariseinashootingincident.

Priortomakingthevideoavailablenationally,agroupofschooldistrictsinArizonaconvenedfocusgroupstoidentifyquestionsand/orkeypointsthatcouldbeusedwithteacherstogeneratediscussionsaftertheyviewedthevideo.ThelistisattachedasExhibitAtothisletterforyouruse.

TheASAPvideoisavailabletoyouatnocost. It wascreatedwithstudent,lawenforcement,andotheractorswhovolunteeredtheirtime. It buildsuponinformationderivedfromtheU.S.DepartmentofHomelandSecurityandtheCityofHouston'sRun,Hide,Fightvideo. It hasbeenadaptedusinglanguagethatisfamiliartoteachers,andisavailableinclosedcaptionedaswell.

TheASAPvideoisaverysoberingfilm,lastingapproximatelysixminutes.Itispasswordprotectedtoenableonlythoseindividualsauthorizedbysuperintendentswithinschooldistricts,charterschooladministrators(ifnotassociatedwithaschooldistrict),orschoolriskmanagementassociation authoritiestoaccessanddownloadit.Duetothematurecontent,itisnotrecommendedforchildren.

ToaccessordownloadtheASAPvideo,itisnecessaryfortheCollaborativetoreceivealetter,intheformsubstantiallysetforthinExhibitB,onschooldistrict,charterschool,school riskmanagementassociationletterhead.Theletter mustbesignedbyanauthorizedagent(e.g.,superintendent,headadministrator,director,and/orsimilarauthority).Theschooldistrict,charterschool,orschoolriskmanagementassociationandsignaturemustbeverifiableviawebsite.This
