Dear Tetrathlon Contact, DC, Secretary or Competitor,

I am writing to let you know, or remind you, about the Scottish Tetrathlon Postal Shoot Competition. The Competition is for all ages of Pony Club Members and for Adults and other non-Pony Club Members (Mums, Dads, Brothers, Sisters, and Friends).

This year we will be running three competitions to be shot over 16 weeks (Nov to Feb)

 Original Postal Shoot

 12 Pony Club targets

 Competitors are divided up into divisions according to the distance they shoot at and their previous or estimated scores.

 There are gold, silver and bronze medals for each age, and there are plaques for the winner and runner-up in each division.

 Michael & Jeanie Jones Trophy competitions

 5 shots on each of 12 ISSF/NRSA 10m Air Pistol targets.

 PC members compete for the Jeanie Jones Trophy with 2 classes based on age

 Non-members compete for the Michael Jones Trophy.

  • The Paula Gray Trophy
  • A team competition named after the founder of the postal shoot.
  • Teams are three members of the same Pony Club
  • Each team must have a boy of any age.
  • Each team to comprise:-

1 Senior (Over 15 yrs as at 1st Jan 2016) shooting 10 metres with one hand

1 Junior (14 yrs & under as at 1st Jan 2016) shooting 7 metres one hand

1 Minimus (11 years & under as at 1st Jan 2016) shooting 7 m. with 2 hands

  • More than one team per Club may be entered.

There is one entry form for the Original Postal shoot and the Jones Trophy competitions, and a separate form for the Paula Gray team competition -if you require more entry forms, please photocopy or download from as we need one form for each competitor. Please pass this letter on to anyone who might be interested in taking part.

PLEASE ORGANISE ENTRIES NOW, as the entries close on 26th October 2015. If you have any queries, or would like to know more about the competition, please send me an e-mail or give me a ring. If you have an e-mail address, we can use it to send instructions, reminders, and results – please put it on your entry form.

(Original) Postal Shoot / The main Postal Shoot consists of 12 Pony Club targets to be shot over 16 weeks (November - February). The idea is to shoot and return three targets each month. Ten rounds are shot on each target.
Competitors are divided up into divisions according to the range they shoot at and their previous or estimated scores.
Adults and Open competitors (15 –21 years old on 1st Jan 2016) shoot 1 handed at 10m. Junior competitors (12 –14 years old on 1st Jan 2016) shoot 1 handed at 7m. Minimus competitors (8 –11 years old on 1st Jan 2016) shoot 2 handed at 7m.

A Challenge - Michael and Jeanie Jones Trophy Competitions
/ The Michael and Jeanie Jones Trophy competitions are open competitions shooting at ISSF/NRSA 10m Air Pistol targets – like those used in Modern Pentathlon. Five rounds are shot on each of 12 Targets – making a total of 60. Three targets are to be shot and returned each month
There are separate competitions for Members (competing for the Jeanie Jones Trophy) and for Non-members (competing for the Michael Jones Trophy). There are classes in the Jeanie Jones competition for those who are over 15 and shooting at 10m and those 14 and under who shoot at 7m. Entries by 26th October 2015
Paula Gray Team / The Paula Gray competition is a team event for Pony Club members shot on Pony Club Targets with scores taken from the Original Postal Shoot. Teams are three members of the same Pony Club. Each team must have a boy of any age and must comprise:-1 Senior (Over 15 years as at 1st January 2016) shooting 10 metres with one hand 1 Junior (14 years and under as at 1st January 2016) shooting 7 metres with one hand 1 Minimus (11 years and under as at 1st January 2016) shooting at 7 m. 2 hands
More than one team per Club may be entered. All team members must return all 12 targets by last posting date.
Entry Fee £7.50 per team to be sent with entry form below by 30th November 2015. – to give a chance to see who is shooting well

Note:

1.Pony Club ages: Ages (and therefore competition classes) are ‘as at 1 January 2016’. Only PC members and those non-members under 21 need to enter a Date of birth.

2.Entry Fee. Entry fee is £14.00/person for one competition; £16.00/person for two competitions.

If you shoot your targets at a recognised shooting club, and have access to PC and/or ISSF targets then we can send your target stickers to your nominated Club contact. You will place your stickers onto the appropriate targets and then shoot them at the club. Your club official will mark the targets and email the scores to me monthly. The entry fee will then be reduced to £11.00 and £15.00 respectively

RULES1.Teams are three members of the same Pony Club

2.Each team must have a boy of any age

3.Each team to comprise:-

1 Senior (Over 15 years as at 1st January 2016)

shooting 10 metres with one hand

1 Junior (14 years and under as at 1st January 2016)

shooting 7 metres with one hand

1 Minimus (11 years and under as at 1st January 2016)

shooting at 7 m. with 2 hands

Members of Junior age may shoot as Seniors single handed at 10m and

Members of Mini age may shoot as Juniors single handed at 7m or Seniors if they shoot at 10m with one hand.
