The evaluations from our St. Tammany Parish Substitute Teacher Training sessions indicate an interest in future workshops. The following are being offered to substitute teachers and/or paraprofessionals who have already completed the mandatory 8 hour training and are active in our system. Substitutes learned five skills for effective classroom management in the mandated substitute teacher training. Need to fine tune those skills? This workshop is designed to further discuss strategies to respond to certain scenarios in classroom management problems. You will learn positive, proactive guiding principles and skills that have been proven successful in making the most of any situation.
Special Education

This workshop will include definitions and explanations of commonly used terms in Special Education classrooms, instructional tools and research pertaining to the learning styles of students receiving special education services. Behavior management and problem solving techniques and modifications for the children in inclusion classrooms will also be discussed.

Have you ever had difficulty teaching the lessons left by the permanent teacher or wonder what to do when told “review with the students”? Teaching Strategies will focus on presenting lesson plans, while enhancing confidence and ability to teach by accommodating individual learning styles.
