Dear Soccer Parents & Players:

We are so excited that your daughter has decided to play middle school soccer. A few things to know about us: Troy has coached middle school girls soccer for 10 years, varsity boys soccer at NMHS and B&G Club soccer for 6 years and has been the girls HS varsity head soccer coach for the last 2 years. Linda has coached B&G Club soccer for 10 years, middle school soccer for 6 years & varsity girls soccer for 2 years.

Here are a few things that we have reviewed with your girls that you should also be aware of:

  1. During games, parents, siblings & friends are asked to sit on the OPPOSITE side of the field as the players. Players are required to sit with the team on the bench.
  1. Regarding absences:
  2. If a player is absent, she needs to communicate with one of the coaches PRIOR to missing practice; if communication is not received by the player or the player’s parents prior to practice it will be considered UNEXCUSED. The following rules are in place regarding UNEXCUSED absences:
  3. First UNEXCUSED absence will result in being benched for half of the next soccer match.
  4. Two UNEXCUSED absences will result in missing the next match entirely.
  5. The third UNEXCUSED absence will result in dismissal from the team.
  6. All 6th grade soccer participants will be on the coed “B” team per ASAA guidelines. The coaches will determine which 7th and 8th grade girls will be on the “A” team. All 7th and 8th grade players who have not earned a position on the “A” team will also be on the coed “B” team. This decision is reserved for the coaches only, and we will do our very best to ensure a fair and impartial selection process.
  1. We instill in all of our players the attributes of good sportsmanship and we believe that the coach, player, and parents all have a well-defined role while participating in all soccer events. Let the coaches do the coaching, let the players do the playing, and let the parents offer encouragement and positive cheering in a way that exemplifies all qualities of good sportsmanship.
  1. We have an open door policy and we welcome parents to express with us any concerns that may arise during the course of the season. If an issue comes up, please contact us and we can arrange a meeting to address your concerns (776-9400).

Practices are every school day from 2:30-4 pm, unless otherwise announced. Parents need to be PROMPT in picking up their child from school. Please NOTE, the attached schedule is ONLY for A Team players. If your daughter is part of the B Team, please be patient, a schedule is forthcoming. We are looking forward to a great soccer season.

Sincerely yours,

Troy ZimmermanLinda Zimmerman
