Dear Prospective Competitor,

The popular Mt PorepunkahRallysprint returns this September, and after the success of the Mitta Rally, the North Eastern Car Club is looking forward to giving competitors another well run event.

Clerk of Course for this year’s Mt PorepunkahRallysprint will be the experienced Ron Harper, with assistance from Stuart Lister.

This year’s Rallysprint will utilize the same route as in previous years, with two eight-kilometer stages. Each piece of road will be run twice in each direction, giving a total of 64km competitive, with minimal transport.

The two stages offer climbs and descents of 460m and 700m respectively over Mt Porepunkah. While the climbs are good fun, the descents will really test the driver, and vehicle brakes. The roads have a solid base, and are reasonably tight and twisty.

Competitors will get to drive over each section once (prior to the competition starting) to check the course and make safety notes, if they so desire.

The field is limited to just 30 entries, so the organisers are advising competitors to get their entry in quickly.

Ample service time will be available during the event.

There are dozens of accommodation options available in Bright and Myrtleford, and with an early Saturday morning start, most crews will be arriving on the Friday night. For details on accommodation options, contact the Alpine - Bright Visitor Information Centre on 1800 111885 or the Myrtleford Visitor Information Centre on 03 57550514.

We look forward to receiving your entry, and welcoming you to the 2017 Mt PorepunkahRallysprint.

- Ron Harper, NECC
