Dear Preschool Families:
The month of January proved to be extra busy and fun for the children. We were all exhausted after the snowball fights. The Pajama Parties were the biggest hit! The children loved going on a bear hunt and finding our gigantic sized stuffed bear with honeycombs to share.
The next few months are critical;we will be moving forward quickly to prepare your child for the next level of learning. One of the best ways you can help your child succeed in learning is to have them here on time each day. We do understand that as parents of school age children, mornings can be very hectic; however,the most important part of our day is from 9:00 to 11:30. It is our goal, especially with the four-year-olds, to have them ready for kindergarten. We would appreciate your having them here on time.

FEBRUARY STUDIES
We need the entire month of February to cover our Creation theme. We will concentrate on a different aspect of the story each week: “God Made the World,” “God Made People,” and “Noah and God’s Promise.” Our Bible verse for the month is “God made the world and everything in it.” Acts 17:24
We will progress through the letters and numbers. Hearts and ovals are the shapes for the month.We will introduce the concepts of opposites toward the end of the month.
SPECIALEVENTS
The two and three-year-olds will celebrate Valentine’s Day partiesin their class rooms on Tuesday, February 13.The four-year-olds will celebrate in their classrooms on Wednesday, February 14. Each teacher will give you further details on the party time and preparations for the celebration in their class. Please watch the weekly class newsletter. All parents and grandparents are invited to attend.
PICTURE DAY
Teddy Bear Portraits will be here on February 22 and 23 at 9:30 a.m. They will take spring photographs of your child. Plan to be present that same afternoon anytime between 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to digitally view and purchase images. Please enter through the car-rider line doors; there will be a sign to direct you to the right location.
REGISTRATION 2018-2019
Registration for the fall is now open. We will again offer two, three, and four-year-old classes on the same days and times as this year. It is important to reserve your child’s spot for the upcoming year since we will open enrollment to the public on March l. Please see me or Ms. Alice for an enrollment form. Enrollment forms will also be available online at ferncreekbaptist.org. later this month. Please make sure to fill out (front and back) and return to the office. Each application must include a $100 non-refundable reservation fee in order for the application to be processed. No reservation will be made before the fee has been received. If you have any questions or need assistance, please let me know.
SUMMER FUN PROGRAM
Our Summer Fun Program is offered to two, three, four and five-year-olds (who have not yet started kindergarten). It is a wonderful way to keep your child learning through the summer months. We do many educational and hands-on learning activities that are fun. The program starts on June 12and runs through July26. The total cost is $300. A $50 reservation fee is due at the time of registration and then the balance of $250 is to be paid at the start of the program. The Summer Fun Program will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
