Dear Praying Friends,

Six weeks have passed since we arrived in the US to visit with our supporting churches and to spend time with family and friends. Thankfully, it has been uneventful except for the many blessings we have received and the wonderful opportunities for fellowship. Thank you for praying with us as we travel. Of course, the best part has been getting re-acquainted with our grandson, Owen. Don’t get me started! He is absolutely our favorite American grandchild (so far). He will soon have some competition as we await the arrival of his sibling the middle of August. We’ll be sticking close by so that we can be here for that important event. The first week of August is a very important time in Spain because they will be having Family Camp. God has always worked greatly through that week so please be in prayer for the campers.

We’ll be sending out another update in September but we want to catch you up on our travels. Here’s what our schedule looks like through themiddle of September:

Recently we received a prayer letter from a friend who is also ministering in Spain. I don’t think he will mind if I draw from his experience. It so expresses our own sentiments about ministry. During their furlough travels, they stopped at a park to have a picnic. They spread their blanket under a big oak tree and after lunch lay back and looked up into the tree. He realized that he could stare at that tree for a long, long time - but he wouldn’t be able to see any evidence of growth. Even if you could come back tomorrow, or even next week, you would still see very little evidence of growth. But were you to return and look at that tree 5 or 10 years from now, you would be able to see how the tree had grown taller and the limbs had grown stronger. That is the perspective we need to remember about ministry in Spain. The short-term view can often be discouraging, with few visible results evidencing God’s hand at work. But in the long-term, it is very encouraging to step back and see just what the Lord has done. Furlough is always a great opportunity to celebrate that growth and to be refueled for the continued work that lies ahead of us in Spain. We are grateful to you for allowing us to continue to minister because we do see fruit even though it may take a long time. We are confident that God still has much to accomplish in Madrid, in Coslada, in Campo Real and in other needy areas.

We hope to see you when we’re in your area, so please contact us. We can be reached by e-mail at any time: . We also have a cell phone: (760) 208-0514. We hope that you will visit our website: where we keep an updated calendar as well as otherinformation. You can also seeour progress in raising support. Before we can return to Spain in October, we need to raise an additional $400 a month. We’re trusting the Lord to meet this need so that we can return on time. Thank you for your prayers and interest in the ministry in Spain.

In Him,

Roy & Nancy Jones
