Dear Parents, Staff and Pupils

SNOW SOS

Thank you so much to the staff and parents who came out at the crack of dawn armed with shovels to clear the snow from the school site. You did a fantastic job which we very much appreciate. The children had great fun building snowmen on the field and we could not have asked for a better natural resource for Year 3 & 4. They built igloos on the field as part of their geography topic “Arctic regions”.

NETBALL

Well done to the school team for their amazing double!! The squad won all of their league games to become the outright winners. They entered the netball tournament held at the RoyalMasonicSchool where they progressed through their group to the knockout stages. The semi-final and final were tense, close fought games but they prevailed! The many parents there to support were jumping for joy! A huge congratulations to the players Molly, Jessica, Luke C, Ellie, Sophia, Isabelle, Kodi, …….Many thanks to Mrs Gough for coaching the team and to Miss Mitchell for the huge amount of time she gives up in order to ensure the children have access to so many sporting opportunities. The team will now progress to the CountyFinals and we wish them the very best of luck. We hope that a photograph of the tournament team will be appearing in the Watford Observer.

Y6 ATHLETICS

A team of five girls and five boys took part in an indoor athletics tournament this week. There were a number of track and field events which were great fun but exhausting! The children tried their hardest and represented the school with great enthusiasm. Well done to Tess, Sophie, Emma, Lizzie, Mya, Louis, Rhys, Taylor, James and Shun. Thanks to Miss Mitchell and Miss Parry for accompanying the children.

AUSTRALIA DAY

Yes you read that correctly! The children in Years 1 & 2 spent the day on activities connected with their topic on Australia, a geography topic close to Miss Mitchell’s heart! This included a camp fire in the afternoon and the Watford Observer came to take photographs. Thanks to Miss Akhgar, Miss Mitchell and all their helpers for organizing such a fun day of learning.
