Dear Parents/CarersNewsletter 8

December is fast approaching and it is a time for kindness and good will. As mentioned before, on Wednesday 3rd December Edmonton County School are hosting their annual Community Christmas Party for the older generation in Edmonton. Thank you for the donations that are coming in for their Christmas hamper bags. Please keep them coming in as the deadline is byMonday 1st December.

I am proud to announce that “Key Voices” our first ever Edmonton County Primary Phase Choir are having their debut performance at this event. They will be singing some songs to them one being “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer”.

It is a shame that I have to still keep mentioning the fact that some parents feel that it is ok to park in our neighbour’s front drives. This is NOT ok, not even for 2 minutes. Please respect the fact that they also have places to get to quickly in the morning and they need to get in and out when they want to. Someone has recently been clamped on Little Bury Street and this may have cost as much as £160 to have it removed. Please do not let it be you.

I have also witnessed people illegally parking on a yellow line and on the pavement where someone can get seriously hurt. Thank you to some parents that have challenged this but I urge you to take down number plates and report any illegal parking and manoeuvres. The safety of our children and families always comes first!

To this end conflicts outside the school gate are NOT acceptable especially when children are around. We have a responsibility to be good role models in the community. Please also be mindful that our role is “Teaching and Learning” and challenging illegal parking and conflicts needs to be minimised so we focus on the children’s progress at all times.

It was a pleasure being on the building site today as I can confirm that the rest of the school is really coming together. There is paint on the walls, carpet being laid and the playground is even having its first layer of tarmac. We are excited to welcome the New Year in January 2015 where we will see a complete building.

Thank you for your patience and support with this.

Yours sincerely

Miss E Tooulis
