Prom Dress Code Policy
2017
This is an attempt to answer any questions you may have in regards to what is considered appropriate for both ladies and gentlemen. Please take the time to read carefully before purchasing your attire. There will be no exceptions.
Ladies
Gowns should demonstrate good taste and abide by the school dress code. However, since many gowns are strapless, they will be allowed. Dresses will also be allowed that are backless as long as the back is no lower than the waist. Dresses with slits in the front, back or side must not be split more than 5 inches above the knee. Dresses and skirts must be no higher than 6 inches from the bend of the back of the knee. The front and back cut of the dress, gown, or top must adequately and tastefully cover the midriff area, the chest, and the backside of all students. Students will be asked to change if they do not meet good taste standards. If in doubt, see Ms. Weaver or Mrs. Tadlock before purchasing. Anyone that is inappropriately dressed will not be allowed in prom. We do not want to have to send anyone home for dress code violations. We want everyone to attend and have a good time.
Gentlemen
Dress suits or tuxedos are required. Gentlemen must wear a tie or a bow tie and a vest or a jacket. No tennis shoes. Gentlemen are expected to wear dress shoes although dress boots will be allowed. Only brand new black jeans and only dress boots (no dirty work boots) will be allowed.
Prom is a formal affair and students should come with the expectations of having a good time while behaving like young ladies and gentlemen. This specifically applies to appropriate dancing. Inappropriate behavior and dancing can result in your dismissal from the prom.
