Dear Parents and Students,

Below you will find a schedule for summary school and the assignments that are due on each day. The booklets and/or packets will be spaced out throughout the summer. Only the ones listed next to the dates are due that day. Feel free to work ahead if you find you have extra time. This year we will be meeting three times a week from 9:00am to 12:00pm and students will be expected to bring their math and reading summer books to school with the assigned pages completed. During our time together we will be correcting the completed assignments, going over any questions that came up, and doing other activities. Students may also have time to work ahead on their lessons so please make sure they bring their folders/books to summer school.

*Complete the assignments under the grade that you just finished. Reminder -assignments are due on that day.

Remember students, you want to complete your work carefully because if you complete your booklet with a 70% average you will be treated to four hours at Splash Village Water Park in Frankenmuth. That includes 4 hours of swimming, 2 slices of pizza, a glass of pop, and a cookie. We will be going in August date TBA from 10:00am-2:00pm.

I know some of the assignments seem lengthy; however once you get into the books you will find that the lessons are not that long. In the 3rd – 7th grade books every lesson gives an explanation and examples. Please make sure that you read the lesson, as a refresher, before you do the practice problems. The intent is to keep everyone practicing their reading and math skills over the summer. If you do one lesson a day you should have no problem keeping up.

Parents remember if you have a vacation planned and your children cannot attend a day of summer school they will not be punished for that. If they complete their booklets with an average of 70% or better they will also be treated to a day of fun. I strongly encourage all students to attend each day of summer school, however I completely understand if your schedule doesn’t allow for perfect attendance. Please let me know what days your child will not be able to attend. You can call me; (989)551-8816, email me; , or just let me know when I see you. Thank you - that will help in my planning.

Thank you so much for your hard work and effort. Please don’t hesitate to call or email me if you have ANY questions. I can’t wait to see everyone over break.

Sincerely, Mrs. Schweitzer
