Dear Parents and Families:

Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child. Of all the skills children learn, it is the one you can influence the most.

We are pleased to announce the start of the annual SRS Book Fair on Thursday Nov, 15th 2012. As we all know, raising our children to be readers from a young age is one of the most important skills we can provide. With that in mind, we hope everyone will make plans to visit our Scholastic Book Fair.

We will continue with our tradition this year of offering the Teachers Wish Lists and a raffle to win breakfast for one lucky winner (and 3 friends) in the Teachers’ Lounge. For each book purchased, the student will be entitled to one (1) raffle ticket. As in the past, Teachers Wish Lists will be posted at the fair, and made available on our Home & School website.

As in the past years is the use of SignUpGenius.com for those who wish to volunteer their time at the fair. If you express an interest in helping with the fair on the Volunteer Form (sent home at the beginning of the year), you will receive an email shortly which will permit you to fill in your date and time availability on the site. If you did not previously indicate an interest in volunteering, but would like to do so (or if you have any questions) please contact Johanna Ebling at .

As in past years our Fair will hold a display for a charitable campaign called One For Books. The donations we receive will be used to provide books to low income children, as well as books to the classroom. Also, Scholastic makes a matching donation to one of three national reading charities.

Cash, credit cards & checks (PAYABLE TO SRS HOME & SCHOOL) will be accepted at the fair.

Book Fair Dates: November 15th to November 21st

Shopping Hours: Thurs, Friday, Monday, Tuesday & Wed 8:30 to 3:30pm
