Dear Marina del Rey Tri-M Music Honor Society members,

Thank you for expressing interest in volunteering with the rabbits. We are a premier rabbit welfare organization based in the Westside of Los Angeles. For more information about us, please go to

  • If you'd like to become a rabbit foster parent, we have information on that here:
  • We work with the public animal shelters to care for the rabbits there; this is our greatest need and the "elite volunteer" position. You have to be 16 or older to be a shelter volunteer.
  • And we haveweekly mobile adoption venues on Saturdays, and Sundays (with just one assistant needed on Sundays).

Here's the basic info about our Saturday mobile adoption events:

We usually need unlimited help at our adoption venue on Saturdays. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit, so community service hours can apply, and we welcome all ages of volunteers. For groups like yours, we like to limit the number to 4 or 5 people because space is limited and we have regular volunteers who like to help out. Some groups we work with have their people come in two-hour shifts.

The venue is located inside the Centinela Feed store, 3860 S. Centinela Ave, LA 90066 on Saturdays, and the duration of time for the adoptions is from 12:30 - 3:30 (or later, if we have a bonding or adoption in process). We need volunteers from 12:00 until 3:30 - 4:00, depending on adoptions.

We like our volunteers to be there for the full time, if possible, but we appreciate any time you can devote to our special rabbits. Between setup and take-down, your main job will be to sit in the pens with the rabbits to socialize them. You are welcome to take a lunch break at any time. If you drive, please do not park in the Centinela Feed lot; they need to reserve the spaces for their customers. There is metered parking on the street and you can probably find parking on the side streets. Or, park in the school parking lot to the right of the store.

Dress code: Please wear something that covers your arms and legs as much as possible, and be aware that bunnies might try to nibble on your shoes and clothes. We recommend closed-toe shoes, jeans or pants and a rabbit-themed shirt if you have one.

Rules: We have few rules because we are a small, friendly group, but we do ask that you be ultra-polite to all visitors since we are hosted by Centinela Feed and must respect their business and customers. People will bring dogs near the rabbits. When that happens, we politely explain that rabbits can have heart attacks even when the dogs are friendly and wouldn't intentionally hurt the bunnies.

Thank you again for your interest in our organization! I look forward to hearing back from you. Please note that due to an overwhelming demand for volunteering with us and space limitations, we're going to have to take requests to volunteer at least one day in advance of each Saturday event.
