Dear M.A.C. Invitational participant:

We are glad that you are participating in the M.A.C. Long course Invitational being held at the Multnomah Athletic Club on April 29-30, May 1, 2016. Please review the following information, as it will help us to run a smoother event, making it a quality experience for all participants.

The Multnomah Athletic Club is an exclusive private club located in downtown Portland. Because of this, we ask that you adhere to the following club policies for hosted athletic events:

  • There will be a $10.00 fee for parking during the meet. During athletic events, when demand for parking increases beyond our normal needs, the club often needs to use overflow parking. The MAC is a large brick building with an arched roof located on S. W. Salmon St. between S. W. 18th and S. W. 20th streets. Upon arrival proceed to the member garage directly across the street from the club for parking. If overflow parking is being used, directions will be given.
  • We encourage as many competitors and spectators as possible to use mass transit to lessen pressure on available parking. There is a MAX train line station (the King Hill stop) directly outside of the MAC on S. W. 18th Street.
  • Enter the club through our Athletic Entrance, which is to the left of our Main Entrance located on S. W. Salmon Street.
  • Please do not bring large containers of food, such as team or group coolers, whole boxed pizzas, etc., into the building. We have our in-house grab-and-go restaurant, Joe’s, located on the Basement Level. Joe’s carries energy bars, fruit, salads, sandwiches, candy etc. These items are available for cash purchases only. In addition, there are several restaurants and fast food providers within a short distance of the club.
  • While in the club, please stay in the area of your competition or the dining facilities. Use of other athletic or fitness facilities within the club is not allowed unless you are the personal guest of one of our members, or other arrangements have been made.
  • Our members are held to an Athletic code of Conduct while participating in club sports or activities. We ask that you do the same.
  • While competing at any venue, we will play fairly and encourage fellowship among our opponents and ourselves.
  • We will treat each other, our opponents, guests, officials and staff with dignity and respect.
  • We will at all times, whether as competitors or spectators, conduct ourselves in a sportsmanlike manner and we will not tolerate any among us who do not.
  • We will not use performance-enhancing drugs to gain a competitive advantage.
  • We will instill these values in our junior members and guests by education and example.
