Mr. Rene Nunez (Ethan and Lani’s daddy), Mr. Avi Gururaja (Jaiden and Amethyst’s daddy), Mr. Colin Strand (Alister’s daddy), Mr. Anthony Matignas (Tyler’s daddy), and Mr. Koko Meguerditchian (Harry and Noah’s daddy).
Calling All Mom’s

Summer Program
Summer is here! LSLC is ready for some fun in the sun. Here are some things you should know to be able to join in on the fun:
On Campus Activities- will be held on a weekly basis. Please see the attached Summer Program Schedule for dates and times. If your child is not scheduled to attend school on a Campus Activity day, they are welcome to join in as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
H2O Play- each classroom will participate in water play on Tuesday and Friday. The first day of H2O Play will be on Friday, June 15th. Have your child wear his/her swimsuit under his/her clothes on water play days. If your child is potty training, provide a “Swim Pull-up”. A gallon ziplock bag, labeled with your child’s name will also be needed. Inside the bag place a labeled towel, labeled underwear, and labeled closed toed water shoes. Kindly place the bag in your child’s cubby.
The following is the H2O play schedule on Tuesday and Friday:
9-9:45 a.m. Rooms 105, 107, and 109
10-10:45 a.m. Rooms 121, 122, 115, and 119
No Sandals or Crocks Allowed- please DO NOT send your child in open toed sandals. The playground is a very busy area and in the summer, it is a very wet, muddy place! Assist us in preventing any accidents involving little toes and have your child wear safe, sturdy, closed toed water shoes.
Sun Block- a 30-50- SPF is recommended and must be applied prior to your child’s arrival at LSLC. Sun Block should be applied daily even if your child is not involved in water play. A sun hat or baseball cap is optional and the teacher should be notified if you would like your child to wear one outdoors. Our Shade Sails shade most of the playground but Sun Block is still the best bet.
Recess- the children will participate in outdoor play and activities, weather permitting. The Administration will make the decision if the children will be staying indoors or going out. If the children are allowed to go out and the staff feels that it is still too warm, they do have the freedom to bring the children in.
The following is the summer recess schedule:
9-9:30 a.m./5-6 p.m.Rooms 105, 107, and 109
9:45-10:15 a.m./5-6 p.m. Rooms 121, 122, 115, and 119
Lunch Box- if you choose to provide your child with a lunch box, be sure to provide an ice pack as well. The ice pack will help to keep your child’s lunch fresh (especially any meats or dairy) and his/her drink cool through the summer months. The summer months also bring unwelcomed ants. In an attempt to keep these little critters away, the teachers have been instructed to throw out all opened leftovers. Any sealed leftovers will be placed back in the lunch box.
Peanut/Tree Nut Allergy Alert:
We are a “Peanut/Tree Nut Free” school and do not serve any peanut/tree nut products in our snacks or Hot Lunch Program. When packing lunches from home or sending in prepackaged Lunchables to school, please remove all peanut/nut products and check for candy, as some of these candies have peanuts in them. We have numerous peanut/tree nut allergies in our program, some that require an EPI pen. Please assist us in keeping all of our little friends happy and healthy!
Parking Lot Safety:
Be mindful to watch your speed and one way direction arrowsas you enter and exit the parking lot. There are very short and priceless little people walking, hopping, jumping, and sometimes darting out in the parking lot and they can be hard to see, especially if you drive an SUV or van.
When parking in the front row parking spaces, nearest to the building, please do not back into these spaces. Sometimes, as careful as parents try to be, a child could run on the sidewalk behind a car backing in and be injured.
When leaving the building, be sure to take your child by the hand as you walk through the parking lot. We have many high energy, curious little ones that don’t always listen. We do realize that many times your hands may be full with items that are brought to school. We recommend that you make two trips to the car to ensure the safety of your little one (s).
Always bring your patience and be courteous to those driving and walking around you in the parking lot.
Enrichment Classes:
All enrichment classes with Enrichment Planet will resume in September 2018. However, her are the dates for some make-up classes: 6/4 Sports Class and 6/6, 6/13 Tumblebees. Students who dropped for the Summer Program will be reimbursed by Enrichment Planet.
Ballet with Dance Dance Dance will end June 12th and resume in September 11, 2018.
Tuition/Hot Lunch Checks:
When paying for tuition and Hot Lunch, be sure to write out TWO separate checks…thank you.
Special Thanks:
May was an incredibly busy month with the Pre-K/TK Graduation. The graduation ceremony was adorable and very memorable for our families and staff. We couldn’t have done it without the following volunteers who decorated MC One and the HospitalityPatio for our graduation and reception. Special thanks goes to: Mr. Eric Smith(Isabella’s dad), Mrs. Cynthia Diederich (Bridget and Jasper’s mom), Mr. Isidro Lopez (Jason’s dad), Mrs. Juliana Tannous (Adella’s mom), Mrs. Jennifer de la Guardia (video),and Mrs. Vicki Gemora that brings it all together every year!

New Backpacks and School Supplies Drive
LSLC is partnering with Rays of Light Philanthropic in hosting a community service event to collect new backpacks and school supply items for the homeless children of Door of Hope, Union Rescue Mission (URM) & Hope Gardens, foster children in Inner Circle Foster Care and inner-city youth. Our goal is to “Be a Blessing” by promoting education.
We believe backpack drives are critical in the following areas:
Increasing academic awareness among our community
Supporting the education systems & staff in our surrounding areas
Promoting confidence and academic excellence among our community youth
During the month of July, a large collection box will be set out near the front desk to collect the following items:
Backpacks Elementary: crayons, markers, pencils, erasers, paper (wide ruled), sharpeners, glue sticks, rulers, notebooks, and pencil cases
Backpacks Middle/High School: pencils, pens, colored pencils, paper (college ruled), scientific calculators, flash drives, dividers, and notebooks
Thank you in advance for your consideration in donating to the needy in our community.
