Trump National 2013 Summer Internship Program

  • Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student registered in school in their junior or senior year.
  • Applicant must be eligible to receive course credit applicable towards graduation from their University and provide the necessary information stating it is valid, i.e. letter from advisor; description of class requirements, etc.
  • Submission of application, resume, 2 letters of recommendation, letter from school validating course credit, and essay required.
  • Students will be provided a meal (lunch and/or dinner) depending on amount of hours worked for given day.
  • Position available from approximately the beginning of May until the middle of August (depending on department, may be required to stay longer).
  • Applicant must be available to work a minimum of 3 full work days a week.
  • Application Deadline is February 28th (will keep accepting following this date for future reference).

Internship Position Overview

Food & Beverage Intern:

  • Casual & Fine Dining- Assist with ala carte service techniques. Learn wine knowledge by wine training, tasting seminars and the Club’s wine list. Go through the TIPS training and certification required by most Club’s in the industry. Learn the aspects of Jonas Management Point of Sale Service Training by inputting orders, closing checks and end-of-day reporting. Person will also be privy to Jonas back of house manager training. Individual will review beverage ordering.
  • Banquet Department (Member Events, External Events, Golf Outings)-Intern will assist with events set up, décor and design including buffet creations and displays. This person will also learn how to properly communicate with members and guests, the booking process and the billing process. The intern will learn the beginning and end steps of booking golf outings or external events.
  • Seasonal Outlets (Lakehouse, Pool, Dining Room)-Interns will learn the opening and closing procedures as well as daily operations at one of the dining outlets. This intern will handle billing of daily golf passes and reconciling end-of-day sales report.

Kitchen Intern:

  • Intern will work with Kitchen Staff from Executive Chef to Line Cooks on day-to-day operations, including but not limited to: preparation of hot and cold items for ala carte and banquet use. They will also assist with daily deliveries, inventory and organization of storerooms/refrigerators. The intern will plate food items during ala carte meals and banquet parties. They will work on other various projects assigned by Executive Chef.

Membership/Marketing Intern:

  • This intern can expect a full understanding of objectives, strategies and tactics driving the daily operations of the Membership & Marketing Department. The intern will learn how the Club uses social media for the overall Club functions. You will also attend food and beverage meetings to see how club events are marketed to the membership.

Tennis Intern:

  • Tennis interns will act as Tennis Shop Manager working daily with computer programs and sales. The shop sales will be inventoried and entered into Jonas Management Systems daily (candidate will be trained on this system). The tennis intern will be responsible for engaging with the members to promote sales and events. They will also learn how to schedule tennis lessons and eventually book for the shop. Having tennis abilities would be a perfect fit, as this intern could help teach clinics and other camp activities for the youth programs.

Accounting Intern:

  • Suitable candidates should have a background in Accounting and Finance and be very knowledgeable with Microsoft Excel. Accounting Interns will work under the supervision of Controller and Senior Accountant on daily accounting processes from preparing and mailing confirmation of account balances owed by Club members to contacting vendors about invoice payments. Interns will be working with Jonas Management Systems daily and be trained on this system. This intern will assist with billing related issues regarding Trump National Golf Properties and maintain client contacts, as well as, helping with special projects where proficient skills in Microsoft Excel are a must (i.e. preparation for audits or tax reports). No weekends or Holidays Necessary.

Golf Operations Intern:

  • A Golf Operations intern will initially learn the basic golf operations policies and procedures, including the daily tasks, routines and areas of responsibility of all golf operations personnel. Interns will have the opportunity to handle actual member inquires and assist with clients for golf outings.
