Dear Hunting Enthusiast…We hope you will consider becoming a memberof Wyoming Sportsmen for Fish

and Wildlife! Your membership will ensure that sportsmen continue to have a strong voice at every level of government where decisions are being made every day that have a direct impact on our heritage of hunting, fishing, and trapping.

With the help and support of sportsmen like you SFW has been able to accomplish many things in Wyoming:

  • Participated in the formation of the Wolf Coalition which is litigating to ensure that Wyoming is allowed to manage wolves on Wyoming’s terms
  • Partnered with WY G&F to fund a statewide assessment/needs of shooting ranges
  • Established the Wildlife and Natural Resources Trust Fund
  • Secured $3 million annual dollars for local Predator Management Boards to fund and implement predator management practices to benefit wildlife; and provided a means to include sportsmen in the process of predator management
  • Worked to secure predator status for the wolf in a majority of the state and continue to support the wolf coalition’s efforts to delist wolves.
  • Organized “Hay Day” in support of the original mission of the National Elk Refuge in Jackson. Well over 60 tons of hay was delivered by dozens of volunteers.

SFW is the fastest growing sportsmen’s group in the state with over 3900 in our database; approximately 98% are Wyoming residents. SFW is a grassroots organization, meaning our strength comes from members getting involved and voicing their opinions to their elected leaders. Let them know what you think!

With your help and support, SFW seeks to address:

  • Securing adequate funding for the Wyoming Game & Fish Department
  • Restoring mule deer and pronghorn numbers to population objectives via habitat improvements, increased hunter harvest reporting, measurable and quantifiable populations dynamics, and intensified management practices
  • Increased hunter/angler participation in G&F open house meetings, etc.
  • Restoring management authority of grizzly bears and wolves to WY G&F Department
  • Address needs identified in shooting facilities study and secure funding for those improvements/needs, etc.
  • Establish a hunter/angler mentoring/apprentice program

Also included in your packet is information on two great raffles: Hunt of a Lifetime and Lucky 7. Hunt of a Lifetime is a chance on a Wyoming Game and Fish Commissioner’s tag that entitles the winner to hunt deer, elk, or antelope anywhere in the state. The Lucky 7 drawing has 30 great prizes including guns, optics, and cash. Winners will be drawn on 7/7/07. This is a terrific opportunity to help SFW and win some great prizes!

If you decide to join us as a member you will also receive SFW’s quarterly magazine The Sportsman’s Voice which includes articles by sportsmen from Wyoming and across the West. Each issue of the magazine includes a special section of pictures from our members enjoying the outdoors. As you are out hunting, fishing, and trapping, be sure to have your camera ready to share your memories with fellow members.

Thanks to your support, SFW will continue to be a strong advocate for sportsmen across Wyoming. We can’t do it without you, and we again thank you for your support!

Hopefully, you like what you have learned about us and you will desire to lend your voice and support to our collective voice and efforts. A large membership will ensure that sportsmen continue to have a strong voice at every level of government where daily decisions are made which have a direct impact on our heritage of hunting, fishing, and trapping.
