Dear Families of Strings Students,

**Our strings program will be using Remind101 for updates about scheduling, performances, cancellations, etc. Remind101 sends text alerts to your phone regarding our classes. Sign up information can be found in our string program registration letters (found on my website) and you may opt out at any time.

For your convenience, I have a teacher webpage located on the school website at Check it often for important announcements, schedules, private lesson information, and musical performances in the area. Important dates regarding the strings program can also be found on my website as well as the district calendar. Mark our string dates now as it is expected that students attend all rehearsals, concerts, and assemblies.

All students will need a notebook to keep in their string folders for Journal assignments throughout the year. This notebook should only be used for strings classes. Folders will be provided for the students. Each student’s folder should contain: their notebook, music book, any music/handouts given in class, and a pencil (or two!). In addition to needing the listed materials for class, students are expected to have assignments prepared upon arrival. Students need to dedicate 20 minutes each day (minimum!) to preparing their assignments for Strings Classes, just as they would set time aside to prepare assignments for their other classes. Students who do not prepare their assignments as expected will not be able to participate in our ensemble performances. A copy of an assessment rubric is attached for your perusal.

If you have any questions or concerns during the school year, feel free to email me any time at . You may also call me at Inglewood on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; or Gwynedd Square on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Please talk to your child about his or her instrumental lessons. Set aside time to review your child’s progress and to reaffirm his or her commitment to the program. Parental involvement is an important factor in student success! Together, we can continue the tradition of musical excellence that has been established in the North Penn School District.

Musically yours,

Ms Krista L. Feliciani
