ORE is comprised of so many socio-economic members: age; income; lifestyle; Seniors; Boomers; Millennials; Permanent Residents; Weekend Residents; Long Term and even Short Term Renters. Yes – a prioritized agenda becomes difficult. Speaking to various residents individually (rather than at intimidating meetings) may provide better insight to the needs, opinions & issues of ORE. One commonality among all residents is Oak Ridge Estates’ visual charms.

The Directors must be more visible to the residents other than at Board Meetings. The Directors must maintain professionalism among themselves. This attitude will filter down through the neighborhood.

VISION: My vision remains the same as Messrs. Polk and Houston when they purchased the land:“To create the most scenic and desirable ‘residential’ community on Lake LBJ.” And, in 1982 when 75 property owners gathered at the Community Center to form the property owners association: “To provide for the maintenance and preservation of the common areas.”

I have been coming to the 312 Pecan Creek Drive address since 1967 when my father, Butch Rieber originally moved to Oak Ridge. . . that’s 50 years. I believe Daddy’s was the 4th house completed in Oak Ridge. It is now my homestead.

I have seen the neighborhood grow from little houses on stilts - some of which are still around and still charming- to glorious waterfront homes. I have seen the old volunteer fire department grow into utilizing a contract fire department.

I have seen property values increase 1667% from 1967 to 2017 (50 years.) I am a high energy person; I’m here to stay and want to serve our community.
