Dear District Assessment Coordinator:

All districts have received the WSAS Individual Profile reports, and student level data have been loaded to the WSAS Online Reporting System (ORS) You may view student level results online, download student level PDF reports or download the student level data file. If you have questions about the WSAS-ORS please send an email to: .

If you have any questions regarding student results, here is a list of steps that may help you find an answer:

1. The district assessment coordinator can download the Individual Student Data File available on the ORS and review all students’ demographic characteristics, scale scores, sub-scores, response pattern, and other WSAS score data.

2. If analyzing the student scoring pattern does not clarify the issue, DPI can request that CTB pull a student's test book and DPI staff can review the test book and communicate the findings to the district.

3. If step 2 does not clarify the issue, the last resort is to re-score the test. The test contractor charges the district a fee of $96 per student to re-score tests. Requests for rescoring of materials must be submitted to CTB no later than April 25, 2012. Parents and districts should be aware that the score could drop as a result of this review.

Please send the students’ IPRs to parents as soon as possible. You could include a letter with the student report when it is sent home. The key points about the IPR report, test results, and the WSAS are available in the recent issue of the OEA newsletter available at http://dpi.wi.gov/oea/pdf/oeanwltrfeb12.pdf. There is no DPI-produced brochure to send home to parents with the IPRs.

The IPRs should not be held until the WSAS press release. WSAS electronic reports (Phase II and III) will be available on March 9th. The WSAS press release embargo pertains only to schools and districts sharing summary test results with the public. Please do not share any summary data publicly prior to March 27.

Thanks.
