Thank you for your interest in Shanon’s Dance Academy. In this letter you will find the 2014/2015 Session 2 schedule along with tuition rates and a registration form. Session 2 begins Monday, December 8, 2014. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call. Thank you again for your interest and we look forward to dancing with your child!

Dance Apparel

Shanon’s Dance Academy sells dance shoes as well as tights, leotards, dance bags and other dance clothes. Please refer to the attached order form for information on shoes, leotards, tights and dance bags. Please email or call to find out prices and availability for other dance clothes such as jackets, hoodies, shirts, shorts and pants.

All dancers are required to have their hair in a ponytail or bun, wear a black leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes and black tap shoes. Dancers taking jazz will need black lace up split-soled jazz shoes and lyrical dancers will need foot thongs.

Recital Information

The annual recital will be held in June 2015. Participation in the recital is encouraged but not mandatory. Detailed recital information will be distributed once registration is received.

- Class length represents total class time per student per week, excluding competition classes.

- Tuition is due in full at the first class of each session. A $10.00 late fee will be applied to tuition not received by the second class of each session.

- There are no tuition refunds.

- There are no tuition adjustments for missed classes, including classes cancelled due to inclement weather. Make-ups may be made during other regularly scheduled classes, based upon availability.

- If you have more than one child taking dance classes with us, you will receive a family discount of 10% off tuition for two or more children. Siblings only, no exceptions!

- A $25 fee will be assessed for all returned checks.

- In the event of severe winter weather, please call the studio voicemail after 2 p.m. on weekdays and after 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays to find out if classes are cancelled. There will be an outgoing message letting you know if classes are canceled and if you are on our email list, you will also receive an email. Since weather often improves by the afternoon, we do not follow school closings.

- A minimum of 4 dancers are needed to fill a class. Classes with less than 4 dancers registered may be cancelled.

Dance student and parent/guardian acknowledge, agree and understand that participation in dance may result in injury. Student and parent/guardian agree that in consideration to enter the premises of Shanon’s Dance Academy, student assumes risk of injury incurred on the premises of Shanon’s Dance Academy or at an event sponsored by Shanon’s Dance Academy, and releases and agrees not to sue Shanon’s Dance Academy or anyone connected with Shanon’s Dance Academy for any claim, damages, costs or cause of action which student has or may have in the future as a result of injuries or damages sustained.

Shanon’s Dance Academy Leotards, Dance Bags, Tights & Shoes

We are now taking orders for leotards, tights and dance shoes. You are not required to purchase these items from Shanon’s Dance Academy, but they are available for your convenience. All dancers will need to wear a black leotard, pink tights and proper shoes to class every week. Suntan and pink convertible tights are also available for dancers in pointe and lyrical.
