Dear CLCP Families, New and Returning

Welcome Back to School!

Dear CLCP families, new and returning,

Where did the summer go? It is hard to believe that we are beginning a new school year already. We are so excited that you are all a part of our CLCP family and we look forward to serving you in any way we can! We hope you found the social hour helpful and were able to meet a few new friends, parents and students. Thank you to those parents who were able to attend the

Back to School Orientation. If you have any questions and positive comments, please let us know in the office. We encourage everyone to keep positive and open lines of communications all year long. We wish everyone an exciting and adventuresome school year!

Deb Morgans, Blair Strickland and the entire staff at CLCP!

HOUSEKEEPING ITEMS:

Just a few housekeeping issues to keep everyone on top of things,

at any time you have a question, please let us know.

Tuition: Tuition is due on the first of each month and late after the 10th.

The tuition box is located next to the white board outside the office.

KIDS KLUB is billed at the end of the month. If you need special arrangements for tuition, please let us know and we will be happy to arrange.

Absences: Please let your teacher know if you will be out of school on any day and, if your child is ill please call the office to let us know as well. We do track illness in the school for the health department.

Safety Reminders: Please make sure that your children do not play on

the retaining walls/deck or in the rocks. This is a very steep area and we want to prevent injuries. If the playground is not being used, please feel free to visit there as it is the safest place for kids to play.

Unfortunately, we cannot have children on the playground during school hours due to the classes who rotate regularly. You are welcome to play before and after school.

AFTERNOON SNACK REMINDER: If you are in an all day or afternoon class, please throw an extra snack in your child’s bag for the PM. And, if you stay for afternoon Kids Klub, please throw in a protein or fruit snack and we will provide crackers or other carbs. **Please send healthy choices and please note that the state suggests two afternoon snacks from two different food groups.

ALL DAY CLASSES AND AFTERNOON KIDS KLUB

If your child is staying all day or coming for kids klub in the afternoon,

please send these items in daily: a crib sheet, small blankie and a toy,

if needed. We are required to have the first two things under our license.

These things will go home nightly. If the tote is not large enough to put a lunch and other things in, please send a separate backpack with afternoon items. Your help is appreciated! KIDS KLUB Sign up is located outside the music room on its own bulletin board. If you have any questions, please see us. If there is a day that is completely full on the sign up board, please see us in the office so we can let you know if there is space available. We appreciate your understanding in getting this all organized with regular and drop in friends. We will have it all figured out over the next few weeks.

ALLERGIES/ILLNESS: If your child has an allergy and you have not shared it with us in the office, please see Deb or Blair ASAP. We want to keep all our kiddos safe at all times. We are labeling the classrooms that have unique allergies and your teacher will let you know further information around that if needed. If your child has a fever, a nasal discharge of color or has not been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours, please keep them home until situation has changed. We want them to get well and although, preschool is the first place to build immunities their systems need a break during that time to heal.

PARTY TIME AND CLASSROOM HELPERS:

You are welcome to sign up to help during parties and other events with your classroom teacher. Please remember that we are not licensed for siblings over the age of 6 months (must be able to be in a car seat or snuggy) to be in the classroom. This is mostly due to ratios in the classroom and having age appropriate toys.

WE are a LATEX sensitive school. This means that we do have staff members and students who have a latex allergy. We ask that NO LATEX balloons come for parties. You can bring Mylar balloons and we hear you can get them for $1.00 at the dollar store.

Thanks for your understanding in keeping us safe. Our parent representative, Brittany Marshall will be in contact in September with the room moms.

SPANISH AND MUSIC CLASSES:

Your kiddos do attend a structured Spanish class weekly taught by Ms. Sofia. Ms. Sofia brings a wealth of knowledge to this class. We are very excited to have her. Music class is taught by your child’s regular teacher in and out of the classroom daily and with our Music Director, Ms. Linda once a month.

UGANDA MISSION: We do sponsor a five year old child named Addie from Uganda. We have a picture and a piggy bank on our bookcase outside the office. We are asking the children in our to bring in loose change from home to help support Addie with clothing and school supplies. They love to feed the piggy bank. This is a good opportunity to teach our little ones about those less fortunate and giving. We all help write to Addie and someone reads it to her in her village. We will introduce Addie to all the kids during Ms. Deb’s first puppet time.

PICTURE DAY IS COMING! Individual pictures will be taken on Wednesday 9/14, Thursday 9/15 and Friday 9/16. Please check with your teacher on which of those days your child will have their picture taken. A flier is coming home soon to fill out picture background options. Please return to your teacher as soon as possible. Thanks and smile!

PARENT’S NIGHT OUT BEGINS!

Need a date night with your favorite person? Parent’s Night out will begin in September so begin planning that fun time. Forms are located above the tuition box. Please complete and drop on the desk in the office. Payment is not due until the night of PNO. PNO’s for September are the Friday, 9/9 from 5:30– 9 p.m. and Saturday, 9/17 from 5 – 8:30 p.m. Friday, September 30th 5:30 – 9 p.m. ALL children enrolled and siblings can attend over the age of 6 months old.

Enjoy your night out worry-free!

Please give us a 24 hour cancellation notice since we staff according to number of children attending. There will be a $20 charge for any family that does not show.

**Please note that the master calendar may change and these dates will be accurate in the monthly newsletter and NOT the master calendar due to church events that may present a conflict for space**

Have any riding toys to donate?

We are looking for a few new big wheels or car type riding toys if you are cleaning out for the fall.

SCHOOL CLOSURES/EMERGENCIES:

It seems pretty hot still with our weather; however, Colorado weather changes quickly. Just to outline our policies on weather closures. If Douglas County has a delayed school start due to snow, we BEGIN CLASSES AT 10:15 a.m. Kids klub, if you are pre-registered, will begin at 9:15 a.m. If Douglas County calls a school closure due to snow, we are also CLOSED. If your class reaches 4 absences due to weather, we will make up a day in the Spring time and let you know when that will be. If the school has an emergency at any time, we will notify you directly by phone and email.

RESOURCES/PARENT INFORMATION

There are many places for resource information. Outside the office there are many wall boxes with different resources. There are also some learning and religious books that you may borrow at any time. Please just let us know in the office what you are taking. We may have other fliers and information on the book shelf as well. Please take a look periodically and take anything that might be of interest.

LOST and FOUND will now be kept in the music room in a box. If you have lost something, please check there and ask your teacher if they might have if you cannot find it in that place.

SPORTS CAMP OFFERINGS!

We do offer two extra camp days during the school week. Our

Sports Camp is through Jump Bunch and you can begin registering online through their website soon. There is an extra cost involved to participate. The sports camp meets between classes on Mondays and Tuesdays from 12:15 – 1 p.m. You can leave your child until then or you can bring them to that club if they are in an afternoon class. We will get them to and from their classroom. We are trying to begin our sports camp on Monday 9/12 and Tuesday 9/13. A session lasts for 4 weeks and then a new sport or activity is introduced. Sports Club is a great time and builds many skills.
