Dear Classic Boat Owner, March 28th 2013

Sunday June 16th is Father’s Day. A celebrated tradition, The Detroit Yacht Club, again will proudly hold its annual Father’s Day Antique and Classic Boat Review at our Clubhouse and Harbor on Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan. This family tradition, now in its 29th year, is a daylong affair celebrating Dad’s special day combined with classic boats, cars, great dining, and the beautiful amenities of the Detroit Yacht Club.

  • Registration forms due to Margaret Gmeiner or Todd Eib – June 5th.
  • Show Hours – 9:00am to 3:00pm – Captains meeting at 10:00am, awards ceremony held at 3:00pm.
  • Participants are encourages to be docked or parked for lawn display by 9:00am.
  • Participant’s families are welcome to attend by vehicle – please make note on your reservation form.
  • Dining reservations – Please call ahead to make reservations for brunch or dining in the Grill Restaurant.
  • Boat Launch – The DYC ramp has been refurbished and is available for launching your vessel.

We encourage you to survey the grounds, Clubhouse, and enjoy our facilities including the gourmet brunch, served on the second floor of our Clubhouse.While displaying your vessel, your family members are welcome to attend by automobile to join you for brunch. Please call ahead to make reservations for your family and friends who will attend the show with you, they will need to be on the guest list with our front gate.

Registration & Registration Form:

To accept our invitation, please fill out the enclosed registration form and return Todd Eib or Margaret Gmeiner, , or fax the form to Margaret’s attention at 313 824-7962, by June 6th, so we can ensure inclusion in our program. There is no registration or dockage fee for our show. Dockage Saturday evening is free for those who would like to spend an evening at our club. If you are arriving earlier than Saturday, please indicate this on the form and our Harbor Master will discuss dockage and rates for Thursday and Friday arrivals.

Additional Important Event Information

Day of Show:

Participants are asked to be at the Club, docked or parked for lawn display, by 9:00am. For those arriving by water, signage in front of the Club will direct you to the docking area. Dockhands are available to assist you with dockage, but please call ahead to receive your dock assignments. The dockhands monitor VHF Channel 9. If you do not have VHF, please call 313 824-1200 x 264 and arrange docking 30 minutes prior to your arrival.

Check In & Brunch Reservations:

At the check in booth, you will be presented with a show program and one brunch coupon, to be used on the second floor brunch. One coupon per party please, regardless of the number of vehicles on display. Additional brunch tickets for others in your party can be purchased for $25.95.It is very important to call the Club ahead of time to make brunch reservations for your party. In addition to the brunch, other dining options are available at the poolside snack bar, outside harbor side dining, along with the Starboard Haven Lounge and Grill Restaurant. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, & Discover Card may be used to make all of your purchases at the Club. Our dress codes are relaxed for this day; shorts, slacks, and casual tops are appropriate as bathing suits and tank tops are strongly discouraged for dining. Proper attire is expected and required. Lounge patrons must be of age.

Boat Launch:

The renovated DYC ramp is available on our island or Windsor’s Lakeview Park for our Canadian friends.
