You're invited to enter a team in this inaugural charity event to benefit Masonic Charities.

Teams select the Masonic charity of their choice.

Inaugural Event. Try a new winter sport and benefit a charity.

Spectators Welcome – Bring signs and root for your favorite team

The entry fee of $60 per team of four ($10 for each additional person on the team) is due with a check made payable to Utica Curling Club. Fee goes towards snacks, lunch, prizes, ice maintenance, and equipment rental. Your check must be received before we accept your entry. Your check will not be cashed until you are officially entered.

At least 3teammembers must be non-curlers. One person may be a new UCC curler, but must play lead position. UCC will assign a coach if needed. Champion determined by a combination of money raised for their charity and points scored in the game. First 12 entries are guaranteed spots.

Teams will raise funds for your selected charity. Charity must be identified on your entry form.

This is a great way to meet those from other organizations!! There has been lots of interest so don’t delay in registering a team!

Dear Masons, Participants, and Supporters:

Thank you for participating in this inaugural Masonic charity event! You and your team will have a fun-filled day and the satisfaction of knowing it's all for a good cause.

This is your team packet. Please share the information with all your team members. Enclosed you will find the following:

Day’s Activities Sheet : Includes important information on date, clothing etc.

Entry Form: Send to chair with team name, members and your chosen charity.

Masonic Curling Challenge Contribution Forms: Please make one copy for each team member, more as needed. Bring these and charity funds (checks and cash on the day of the event.

Masonic Curling for Charity Poster: Please post at your organization!!

On Ice Curling equipment (grippers, sliders, brooms and stones) are provided at the club. Please bring clean sneakers to wear on the ice.

The day’s activities are listed below.

Since you will be going on the ice, please come prepared. We suggest you wear a turtleneck, sweater, and/or light jacket, and a pair of loose fitting slacks or sweatpants. Jeans are NOT recommended!! IMPORTANT – bring an extra pair of cleansneakers to wear on the ice.You cannot wear street shoes on the ice due to dirt and salt that can damage the ice.

Money raised for your charity is DUE at the event. This should be in the form of checks made out to the charity of your choice or Cash (receipt provided)

Charity Challenge Rules

  1. Normal rules of curling apply, except for subs; subs can enter a game at any time when a stone is not being played.
  2. Vice-skip (3rd), with assistance of coach, will complete score-cards.
  3. Coaches may be either in the delivery area or house area to provide direction.Coaches may not sweep or participate as contestants.
  4. Only one team prize per team.
  5. Teams will receive the following points: One point for every $50 raised. Five points for a win. One point for each end taken with ¼ point for each rock scoring in an end. Total determines ranking.
  6. Games ending in ties will split 5 points for the win (2.5 points each).
  7. Order of prizes are as follows: Grand Prize: Highest total points – Team Most $ Received in donations – Team Most Curling Points (+ points) in match – Team
  8. Since this is a novice event and to keep it fair, we ask that first year curlers, if any, please play lead positions.
