Dealing With Temptation -All things are difficult before they are easy

The problem with a living sacrifice is that it keeps crawling off the altar.

Don’t doubt. "What is impossible with men is possible with God." (Luke 18:27)

Don’t give up. "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." (Hebrews 12:1)

Don’t be discouraged "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." (2 Corinthians 4:8-9)

Don’t be disobedient. "This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome." (1 John 5:3)

Don’t be impatient. "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." (Ephesians 4:2)

Don’t be self-sufficient. "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."(John 15:5)

Don’t be unsubmissive. "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ." (Ephesians 5:21)

Philippians 4:11 - Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

Psalm 27:14 WaitontheLord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, ontheLord!

Romans 7:25 With the mind I serve the law of God, but with the flesh (emotions) the law of sin.

1 Peter 3:14 And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to live a pure and blameless life. And be at peace with God..

James 5:16 The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results

Eph 2:20-22 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Rev 3:12 - He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God,

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Ephesians 2:2 You used to live just like the rest of the world, full of sin, obeying Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.

James 1:14-22 Temptation comes from the lure of our own evil desires. 15 These evil desires lead to evil actions, 19 My dear brothers and sisters, be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. 20 Your anger can never make things right in God's sight 22 And remember, it is a message to obey, not just to listen to. If you don't obey, you are only fooling yourself.

Romans 6:12 Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to its lustful desires.

Romans 8::2 For the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you :3 God destroyed sin's control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. :5-6 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.

James 4:6 He gives us more and more strength to stand against such evil desires. As the Scriptures say, "God sets himself against the proud, but he shows favor to the humble." 7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you.

Galatians 5:16-23 So I advise you to live according to your new life in the Holy Spirit. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves. :17 The old sinful nature loves to do evil, which is just opposite from what the Holy Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are opposite from what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, and your choices are never free from this conflict. But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, :23 gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law.

Philippians 1:27 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ,

Philippians 4:4-8 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again - rejoice! 6 In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Job 8:5-7 But if you pray to God and seek the favor of the Almighty, if you are pure and live with complete integrity, he will rise up and restore your happy home. And though you started with little, you will end with much.

2 Peter 1:3-10 As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive his own glory and goodness! 4 And by that same mighty power, he has given us all of his rich and wonderful promises. He has promised that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in his divine nature. 5 So make every effort to apply the benefits of these promises to your life. Then your faith will produce a life of moral excellence. A life of moral excellence leads to knowing God better. 6 Knowing God leads to self-control. Self-control leads to patient endurance, and patient endurance leads to godliness. 10 So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Doing this, you will never stumble or fall away.

1 Peter 4:1-3 NIV 1Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin.

Psalm 23 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leadeth me beside the still waters, he restoreth my soul. He guideth me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

1 Cor 10: 12-13 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

1 Cor 2:9 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him."

Eph 6:10-13 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Gal 5:7-8 who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
