DCU Spin out Xcelerator to host Hackathon event

Xcelerator, a DCU spin out and early-stage startup, still in stealth mode, is looking for server and front-end software developers. You’ll work with an experienced team of startup veterans to develop a cloud-based Machine Translation system that will improve the user experience of millions of people. As one of our startup developers, you’ll both define and solve the many interesting problems we face as we develop cloud-based MT for the localisation industry.

Requirements and qualifications:

·  Degree in something that you like and want to make a career out of.

·  Experience with some of these: Java, C++, MySQL, Perl, PHP, JQuery, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS .

·  Thoughtful interaction design and sensitivity to user experience.

·  Experience working with high-traffic websites (>500k monthly uniques). Entrepreneurial approach to your work. We don’t want to manage you, we want to enable you to make the product better and its users happier.

Hackathon Recruitment Event

If you're interested in joining the team and think you've got what it takes, why not join us for our Hackathon Recruitment Event on the 14th September at the Invent Building, DCU, Glasnevin, Dublin 9.

At this event, you will be given a computationally challenging task that you've to complete in any programming language of choice within 90 minutes. If you complete the challenge we promise to setup an interview with a member of our team.

All you need to bring on the day is your development laptop with all your compilers and development goodies. We'll provide all the hacker refreshments, internet feeds and reference materials you'll need to 'hack' your solution together.
