DC West Micro Soccer
League Operation Summary
- DC West Micro Soccer hosts two seasons, spring and fall. Each season consists of 6 Saturday practices/games which are played on the DC West Soccer field located just north of the DC West Elementary School. Practices and games are completed back to back. Practice starts at 9:30am and games immediately follow at 10:00am and are finished between 10:30am and 10:45am.
- Spring Micro Soccer is set to wrap-up before Memorial Day Weekend. It is not recommended to have a game on Memorial Day weekend due to the lack of participation. Fall Micro Soccer should start by the second week in September.
- Each season the DC West Micro Soccer Registration form needs to be updated. An email to the DC West Elementary Secretary (), the DC West Preschool Director () and the Youth Sports Website Coordinator () should be sent 5-6 weeks before the start of the season. Registrations are due back to the Soccer Director 3 weeks before the start of the season. Registrations are normally held by each school Secretary and then picked up by the Soccer Director. Specific arrangements can be made with each contact.
- Team formation must be completed shortly after registrations are due. 6 teams are formed. An email can be sent to players if 6 coaches have not volunteered. Players are assigned to teams based upon age, to help ensure that teams are reasonably even. On average, 6-7 players are assigned to each team. By trial and error, teams are developed and special requests are only granted if possible.
- Team assignments should be mailed to soccer players 2 weeks before the start of the season. Shirt orders need to be placed 2 weeks before the start of the season with Tony at Soccer International (). Marlo Scott () needs to be emailed and sent registration forms 2 weeks before the start of the season. Marlo completes the online registration with the Nebraska Soccer Association. Please see page 2 for a Timeline of events.
- At approximately 9:00am, setup takes place on the Elementary soccer field. 3 fields are set up to host 6 teams. Equipment is removed and stored with the Soccer Director after each game. Soccer balls, nets and cones complete the equipment inventory.
- Each soccer player and coach receive their shirt the first game of the season. I recommend having an extra volunteer present.
