ITINERARY
DAY 1:DEPART USA
Transatlantic flight to Lisbon. Dinner served aboard overnight flight.
DAY 2:LISBON/FATIMA
Arrive early morning in Lisbon. Upon arrival, enjoy an orientation tour of the city. On the way to Fatima, stop in Santarem to visit the church of the Holy Miracle of the Bleeding Host. Later in the afternoon, take a brief orientation of the Shrine of Fatima. In the evening, take part in the Rosary and candlelight procession. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.
DAY 3:FATIMA
After breakfast, visit the holy places at the Shrine of Fatima, including the Basilica and the Chapel of the Apparitions (Capelinha). Continue to Valinhos, where Our Lady appeared in August 1917 after the children were released from prison; Aljustrel, the hamlet where the original homes of the children; the Parish church where the children were baptized and the cemetery. After dinner, participate in the Rosary and candlelight procession. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.
DAY 4:SALAMANCA/ AVILA
After breakfast, travel to Salamanca to visit places related to Our Lady of Penafrancia. Continue on to Avila, the walled city of St. Teresa, also called St Therese of Jesus. Dinner and overnight In Avila.
DAY 5:AVILA/ ZARAGOZA
After breakfast, enjoy an orientation tour of Avila. Depart for Zaragoza. Upon arrival, visit one of the world’s greatest Marian shrines – Our Lady of the Pillar. Dinner and overnight in Zaragoza.
DAY 6:ZARAGOZA/LOURDES
Depart in the morning for Lourdes. Enjoy the scenic ride through the Pyrenees Mountains, crossing the border to France. Upon arrival in Lourdes, enjoy a brief orientation visit of the Shrine. After dinner, take part in the candlelight procession.
DAY 7:LOURDES
Enjoy a walking tour of Lourdes, to visit the places associated with the life of St. Bernadette. Visit the Boly Mill where St. Bernadette was born; the Cachot, formerly used as a jail where she lived at the time of the apparitions; the Parish church containing the baptismal font where she was baptized. Afternoon at leisure for private devotions and activities. In the evening, take part in the Candlelight Procession. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.
DAY 8:LOURDES/NICE
Depart for Nice after breakfast and drive Southeast to the French Riviera. After dinner, enjoy an optional trip to Monaco. Dinner and overnight in Nice.
DAY 9:NICE/FLORENCE
This morning, we depart for Florence. Visit theLeaning Tower of Pisaon the way. The rest of the day free on your own. Dinner and overnight in Florence.
DAY10: FLORENCE
Begin the day with sightseeing tour of Florence, which includes a visit to the Duomo Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto’ s Bell Tower, the Baptistry’s heavy bronze “Gate of Paradise”. Dinner and overnight in Florence.
DAY 11:ROME
After breakfast, proceed to Assisi and enjoy a city tour on foot of Assisi, the town of beloved St. Francis. Visit the Basilica of St. Francis, with its wonderful artwork by Giotto, the Church St. Clare, which to this day houses her incorrupt body.Travel to Rome for dinner and overnight in Rome.
DAY 12: ROME
After breakfast, enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of the Christian Rome: visitingSt. Mary Major, St. John Lateran, Scala Santa, St Paul Outside the Walls, the ancient Appian Way and entrance to the Catacombs. Dinner and overnight in Rome
DAY 13: ROME
This morning we will proceed to St Peter’s Basilica for the Papal Blessing, then visit theVatican Museum, including entrance to the Sistine Chapel. Drive to San Giovanni Rotundo (Padre Pio). . Dinner and overnight in San Giovanni Rotundo.
DAY 14:PADRE PIO
After breakfast, visit the Basilica of St. Pio and view his body at he new Basilica. Proceed to St. Michael Archangel and visit the Cave. Drive back to Rome. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
DAY 15:RETURN TO USA
After breakfast, transfer to Rome airport for your transatlantic flight back home. Arrive the same day.
