Minutes of the meeting held at 7pm on Monday 11thOctober2010, at Bardney Heritage Centre.

1. / Minutes of the last meeting:
The Chairperson read the minutes and these were signed as a true record.
2. / Matters Arising:
- David Start visited the Chairman on 20th September to resolve the HLF Pre-application. It was submitted on 24th Sept. Currently no feedback.
- The plan is to start the dig on 1st June 2011 for 16 weeks, finishing at the Lincolnshire Heritage Open weekend in September.
- Dawn now elected as the new Committee member, to replace Tony Green.
- Lynn is to email Lincolnshire Archives regarding map storage facilities.
- The chairman has presented a letter and list of finds to John Pacey, to thank him for the kind use of his land. Lynn and Barry to send him the meal vouchers.
3. / Correspondence/Email:
- Telephone – Mike Taylor – investigating a 9 Squadron plane crash fatally wounding Bob Philpot. He visited Bardney a few days after this call.
- Email –Mrs Kim Tongs – researching the Brakes family. June kindly agreed to check the Census for information.
- Email –Tara Gill – Cockett family. Offered to send some photographs.
- Telephone – Peter Atkin – New owner of the Barn (Manor). Interested in Bardney history.
- Mail – JCT – letter of consent for the Bardney Abbey dig on their site.
4. / Website:
- 404 hits this month. Copy of current status was passed around.
- The chairman has updated the site with two poems from Jean Elkington and a list of local convicts who were deported to Australia.
5. / Fundraising:
- Terry, Dawn and Jane offered to supply computers, scanner and printer for use in the Heritage Centre.
- Mrs Benton offered a hard copy of Census records.
- Funding may be available from Bardney Limewoods, who may have spare monies and Heritage Lottery funding is still available, as it is funding archaeological dig on the A46 road.
6. / Projects/Interests:
- Discussion was held on the production of a Bardney book. It would be added to our ‘Wish List’ as a future project for funding.
- Guest speakers – Jane offered to carry out a talk on Archaeology on 25th October 2011 at 19-30hrs. It is to be publicised so that villagers are invited.
- Jane will try to arrange more speakers, from her known associates, for monthly talks. Pat Rennie will co-ordinate a list.

Any Other Business:
- HLF sub committee will re-convene when the Lottery Funding notify the position of our Pre-application. (To be arranged by email)
- The Abbey Stone survey is to be started. A notice will be posted in the Post Office. A list of criteria will be made available, for recording.
- It was agreed to place BHG minutes on the internet.
