David Barker, Partner in Barker Apartments. Barker Apartments owns and manages 2,200 apartments, office and retail buildings, a self storage facility, and a garbage business in eastern Iowa. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Chicago, where he has taught real estate investment to MBA students for the past six years, and urban economics for the past two years. He has published several articles in academic journals, continues to conduct research, and occasionally works as a consultant and expert witness. Before joining the family apartment business, Mr. Barker was an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he conducted research on real estate and the banking industry. Mr. Barker holds a B.A. degree from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago. He lives in Iowa City with his wife and business partner, Sarah Richardson. They have two children, ages 6 and 9, who earn minimum wage cleaning apartments in their spare time.

David S. Hall, Director and Regional Sales Manager. Mr. Hall is responsible for originating, structuring and marketing commercial real estate debt & equity transactions for Wachovia Securities Corporate & Investment Banking Division - Midwest Office. Before joining Wachovia Securities, he was with Heitman Financial Ltd. where he served as Executive Vice President in charge of managing and developing a loan production and servicing team for short and long term debt investments on behalf of the company’s pension fund and correspondent clients. Before that, David was Vice President/ Regional Manager for National Bank of Canada’s Chicago Office and worked at the First National Bank of Chicago where he served in various corporate and commercial banking capacities. David graduated with a BA and a MBA from RollinsCollege, and played professional baseball with the Montreal Expos Baseball Club for three years.

David A. Helfand, Principal of Helfand Capital Partners (HCP). Formed in 2003, HCP is a real estate investment management business focused on the long term ownership and management of office, parking and manufactured home community assets. Prior to forming HCP, Mr. Helfand worked at Equity Office Properties (NYSE:EOP) where he served as Executive vice President and Chief Investment Officer. During his tenure at Equity Office, Mr. Helfand supervised nearly $12 billion of M&A activity, including EOP's mergers with Spieker Properties and Cornerstone Properties. Prior to joining Equity Office in 1998, Mr. Helfand was President and Chief Executive Officer of Manufactured Home Communities, Inc. (NYSE: MHC) where he currently serves as a Director. He has also served as a Managing Director of Equity International Properties, a private equity fund focusing on international real estate investment. Mr. Helfand holds a master's degree from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business and a bachelor's degree from NorthwesternUniversity.

Steven Ivankovick, Executive Vice President of Alliance Holdings, L.L.C. Mr. Ivankovich has experience in all phases of property acquisition, including asset identification and evaluation, market evaluation, contract negotiation, and financing. Prior to the formation of Alliance Holdings, Mr. Ivankovick had acquired and completed several extensive rehabilitations of multifamily apartment properties in Chicago. In addition, he spent several years working with a European firm as a feasibility analyst evaluating the commercial viability and financing potential of various construction and heavy industrial projects throughout Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Mr. Ivankovich is an honors graduate of the University of Chicago.
