JOB TITLE: Senior HR Officer

2.  JOB PURPOSE
Developing, leading and delivering a cohesive site HR strategy over a range of HR areas including employee relations, recruitment, absence management, supporting managers and providing professional advice in all HR policies and procedures.

4.  DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
·  Manage and oversee the day to day running of the HR Office providing guidance and support to the HR Officers relating to all employees and managers. Deputising for HR Business Partner at holiday periods and as requested.
·  Providing training, coaching and support to line managers on HR policies and procedures and legal requirements, ensuring fairness and consistency.
·  Deliver effective recruitment, selection and retention solutions, all within HR best practice and legislative guidelines.
·  Manage the employee administration workload, management and maintenance of up to date and accurate employee records on Bond Personnel/ HR databases and in manual files in order to be able to produce timely and accurate management reports and information.
·  Complete, analyse and identify trends in weekly and monthly HR Reports and KPI’s, working with the HR Administrator
·  Monitor and assist managers in the application of the company’s attendance management policy liaising with Occupational Health where applicable including Long Term Sick.
·  Manage and oversee the Occupational Health Technician Role including Health Surveillance for the Site
·  Provide a day to day interface with employee representatives / union representatives, ensuring a positive relationship at all times.
·  Ensure employee’s performance is regularly reviewed and personal development promoted by facilitating the IPR process on site and monitoring against Training and Development Strategy.
·  Maintain up to date job descriptions for all positions as a platform for effective recruitment and IPR performance reviews.
·  Succession Planning – co-ordinate the work in this area with the Senior Managers & HR Business Partner
·  Monitor and support the employee relations climate on site.
·  To be discrete at all times, respecting the confidential nature of the HR role.
·  To understand, report and identify trends in HR KPIs.
·  Assist in coordinating any ethical trading / customer audits in order to achieve the highest result possible and assist with updating the Sedex system / customer questionnaires etc.
·  To carry out project work in line with the business needs.
·  Attend meetings and carry out HR duties as required in the absence of the HR Business Partner
To monitor and control any negative environmental impact arising from the processes within area of responsibility; ensuring that all direct reports and colleagues are briefed and clear in regards to their responsibilities as outlined in the Moy Park Group Risk Management System Manual.

6.  HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
·  Take reasonable care the Health and Safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions.
·  Work in a safe manner and observe the Company Health and Safety Rules and Procedures.
·  Use the protective clothing and equipment provided.
·  Report to your Line Manager any incidents that have led to or could have led to injury or an accident or have affected the environment.
·  Report all injuries promptly that occur to your self at work and obtain the necessary first aid treatment.
·  Cooperate with Managers and other personnel of the Company to achieve a healthy and safe workplace environment.
·  Help in the investigation of accidents in order to prevent recurrence.
·  Observe the Company personal hygiene requirements.
·  Set an example of safe, correct behaviour, particularly to new entrants and young persons.
·  Report any hazard / defect you may observe promptly to your immediate line manager.
·  Report any shortcomings in systems of work or procedures to your line manager.
·  Not to interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare or yourselves or your work colleagues.
·  To comply with safe systems of work at all times
·  To advise managers when not trained for tasks you are being asked to carry out.
Any employee breaching employee health and safety responsibilities will be liable for investigation which may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Company’s disciplinary policy.
7.  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential / Desirable
·  Proven generalist HR background – operating at HR Officer.
·  Experience working and providing HR support in a Unionised environment.
·  IT literate – proficient in MS Excel and Word, and HR databases.
·  Highly developed organisational skills.
·  Good conflict resolution experience.
·  Excellent communicator with the ability to communicate and engage with all levels of management.
·  Full driving licence / ·  Experience working within an HR role in a Food Manufacturing environment and an appreciation of the prevailing legislation and subsequent HR implications for these distinct areas.
·  Experience of training delivery.
·  Experience working within a multi-site operation
·  Experience of managing a HR Team.
