Introduction
DataMan is the data management tool you’ll use to extract data from your back-office system for TRX data consolidation projects. The following topics will provide you with the necessary understanding needed to properly use the DataMan program:
- Installing and Accessing DataMan – Procedures for installing and accessing DataMan
- DataMan Processing – Detailed instructions on how to successfully use DataMan to import and/or transfer data for local or data consolidation services provided by TRX.
- FAQ – Frequently asked questions with information about how data is processed both locally and once received by TRX.
Installing and Accessing DataMan
DataMan is installed during the installation process of the main TravelMan program or as a stand-a-lone product.
At the end of the installation process, a Program Group is created that includes the Icons for the main TravelMan program along with Icons for DataMan Import. To access the DataMan Icons simply go to the Program Group and double-click on the DataMan Icon.
DataMan Processing
To access, select DataMan Import Icon (import32.exe)
The DataMan Import screen contains five main tabs: (Request Data, Request Options, Parsed Fields, Download/Purge, and Internet Transfer). Within each tab there are various options that can be selected. An explanation of the options within each tab and how to use them follows.
Request Name
The Request Name (default Sample) is provided to allow the user a means to save the way DataMan is configured. Multiple configuration files (settings) can be maintained by assigning a different Request Name to each.
Navigation Keys
A set of navigation keys are located to the right of the Request Name drop down list box.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
- First Request - Moves you to the first Request Name you have saved.
- Previous Request - Moves you to the Request Name prior to the one displayed.
- Next Request - Moves you to the next saved Request Name.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I manually upload data if I’m unable to use DataMan?
Yes. You can open a browser and go to dataman.himark.com. Here you can manually complete the edit fields and post the data to our data center. Additionally, you can create your own automated process to post the files. Your process will need to pass the following variables/values:
Web page parameters that must be sent are:
HTTP Post
Enctype of Multipart/form-data
userName (InputType = Text) = variable assigned
password (InputType = Text) = variable assigned
requestName (InputType = Text) = variable assigned
iataNum (InputType = Text) = variable assigned
beginDate (InputType = Text) = variable assigned
endDate (InputType = Text) = variable assigned
zipFile (InputType=File)
Can I provide corrected data once data has been imported?
Yes, however, you must send all of the data associated with a given upload/process. You may also elect to send data for an extended or larger date range. As an example, you can resend all data for all customers for all of 2007. Just be sure to assign the correct Request Name and dates when uploading the data to dataman.himark.com. .All data for the IataNum provided for the date range entered will be deleted / purged from the system and only the data provided will be imported.
As an example, if you post data for IataNum “ABCAGCY” for the dates, March 1, 2007 through March 31, 2007 and only include data for March 1, 2007 through March 7, 2007 in the files you upload, the only data that will be available for reporting is March 1 – 7. If you enter incorrect dates, all data for those dates for that IataNum will be deleted prior to importing the data provided in the new files.
What happens if I send data twice for the same date range?
All data for the IataNum provided for the date range entered will be deleted / purged from the system and only the data provided will be imported.
I receive the error message:
Error: 10001. The file you uploaded appears to be a duplicate. We have already received a file for request TEST and date range 01/01/2005 to 01/31/2005. Processing of data for this request has been temporarily suspended. Please e-mail Hi-Mark Data Services explaining the reasons for uploading duplicate data. Include the request name, beginning and ending dates, and your contact information.
Thank you for using TRX Data Services.
Our processes will not automatically import the files provided if you send data for the same IataNum and date range that has been previously provided. You will need to send an email to explaining why the duplicate data has been provided and instruct TRX to manually load the data provided.
Can I receive E-Mail notification when the process has completed?
Yes. Please send an email with instructions to
Is the data deleted or purged from the system?
If you send data using an IataNum and date range that has been previously sent, the data for that IataNum and date range will be deleted and only the data provided in the files uploaded to our system will be imported.
