Tip: Tires should be replaced when the tread is 4/32 of an inch or less.

Test: Place a quarter upside down in the tread. If Washington’s head is covered by the tread, you have more than 4/32 of tread left.

Traction control helps the vehicle maintain traction in slippery condition. If the warning light come on, this means that the traction control is in use, because the road conditions are slippery. If the light stays on, that means the traction control system has been disabled and usually requires a professional diagnoses.

Antilock Brake Warning

There is an issue with the anti-lock brake system and it is probably disabled. If this is the only light on, the vehicle should be safe to drive to the shop as long as there are no sudden stops. If there are other brake lights on, then there could be a serious problem with the overall brake system. The safest thing to do would be to have the vehicle towed to a shop.
