Dance Team – Kayla Fisher, Gr. 12: Kayla is currently our new captain for the 2012 Fall Season. She has really shown extreme leadership, dedication, and commitment to this team thus far. She has had to make many decisions regarding this fall and she is doing a wonderful job with her responsibilities! I am very proud to have her representing this team. Keep up the good work! Girls Cross Country – Sam Klingelhofer, Gr. 10: Sam is an athlete who is very coachable. She has an excellent work ethic trying to become the best running teammate she can be. Sam never complains and always gives nothing but her best effort. She is a joy. Boys Cross Country – Paul Schmitt, Gr. 10: Paul improved is time at Myrick 2 minutes and 16 seconds in the inter-squad meeting comparing his time this year to his time at the 2011 meet. He has worked his way up to being the #2 runner on the varsity. Paul did this through lots of hard work, he logged over 400 miles Girls Golf – Libby Kreibich, Gr. 10: Libby has stepped up into being a varsity golf starter this season. She accepted it with some reservations initially, but has risen to the occasion for the betterment of the team. Though on the surface Libby is cool, calm, and collected most of the time, she has really grinded it out on the course during meets, especially 18-hole meets, and I have noticed her grand efforts and truly applaud her for them! Ms. Kreibich’s game has continued to improve, and as just a sophomore, she will contribute greatly to the program over the next 2.5 years! Girls Tennis – TristenUtterback, Gr. 11: Great team leadership. Off Season organization. Girls Swimming – Martha Anglehart, Gr. 12: Martha has stepped up and shown excellent leadership this season, despite being away from the team last season. She has made it to every practice and has contributed to dry-land workouts by bringing in supplemental workout ideas. She has supported the incoming freshman and new swimmers by welcoming them to the team. Martha is a great asset to our team and we appreciate her hard work and dedication in making herself and her teammates better in and out of the pool. Volleyball – AbbiKlos, Gr. 10: Abbi has been doing a tremendous job passing and playing defense for us this season. She has a great attitude and is passionate about the game. She is always hustling on the court and does a great job supporting and encouraging her teammates. Great job Abbi! Keep it up. Boys Soccer – Colton Tydrich, Gr. 12: Colton has had to make a lot of sacrifices already this season. He is the only senior on a young team and has done a nice job of leading by example. He was asked to move positions to help the team and he has embraced it. He has been one of the most consistent performers for a team that already has three victories early this season. Football – Bryan Ulrich, Gr. 12: Bryan has done a great job of getting ready for the season both in the weight room and on the field. He is a leader in the weight room. Bryan is also unselfish. He switched from center to guard and is starting to excel in the new position. Keep up the great work.

Dance Team - Whitney Malin, Gr. 12: Whitney is an outstanding leader for the other dance members. She is always willing to help in any way she can. Her hard work and dedication to the team is greatly appreciated by her coaches and fellow dancers. Keep up the good work. Girls Cross Country – Hannah Brekke, Gr. 12: This young lady is having an excellent month of running. As a coach one thing you love about an athlete is their tenacity to compete. Hannah has been just that for our cross-country team. A great role model on how to give everything you have on race day for the team. She is also just an enjoyable young lady. She is a Joy... Boys Cross Country – Alex Rodriguez, Gr. 12: Alex had a great summer of training and it has really paid off. He recently placed in the top 10 at the 14 team Holmen Invite with a personal record time of 17:27, helping the Central boys win the team championship. Way to go, Alex! Girls Golf – AlahnaKeil, Gr. 12: As a four-year participant of Girls Golf, Alahna has been consistently the hardest working player in practice. She has improved her game and has proved to be valuable with her example of work ethic, persistence, and positive personality to the Girls Golf program. Though Ms. Keil’s scores are not where she would like them, she carries on with continued passion and optimism each and every day. AlahnaKeil will be missed next year by the coaches and players! Girls Tennis – Maura Andersen, Gr. 9: Very versatile competitor, never gives up, loves the battle, rises to the occasion, always positive and has fun! Girls Swimming – Maggie Edge, Gr. 10: Maggie has stepped up to the plate this season. We can always count on her to fill in a spot when we are in need of a swimmer. She is a silent competitor. She never brags about her swims…..even though she has a lot to be proud of this season. Volleyball – Sage Swanson, Gr. 12: Sage has been playing outstanding! She has led us in kills and blocks so far this season. Sage has been a positive and active team leader this season. She has stepped up her level of play and has dominated the net for us. Sage has been very coachable and continues to apply what she has learned day to day in practice to her game. Great Job Sage!! Boys Soccer – Andrew Saxton, Gr. 11: Andrew missed his entire sophomore year with a torn ACL but has stepped in to the starting goalkeeper spot and performed admirably. He has four shutouts on the season, including two in conference play. He works hard, has a positive attitude, and does the little things each day to strive towards excellence. He is a model teammate and he is very coachable. Football – Paul Kienetz, Gr. 12: Paul has done an excellent job of helping the team on both sides of the ball and on special teams. He has become a very versatile linebacker, playing multiple positions. Although he is a backup on offense, he still prepares like he is a starter. That type of preparation has been a key to our success. Keep up the great work Paul!

Girls Cross Country - Violet Weibel, Gr. 12: Violet is an athlete that a coach would never like to see leave your program. She is a very positive role model for younger runners to emulate. Through a great work ethic and a high competitive desire she has developed into one of the best runners in the MVC. Boys Cross Country – Forrest Stehula, Gr. 12: Forrest has been our #1 runner for every meet this year. He recently ran a personal record of 16:57 in placing 12th at the MVC meet to earn 2nd team all-conference. Forrest ran over 400 miles this past summer to get ready for the season. He is a team captain with a great work ethic who has helped create a positive environment for the team. Girls Swimming – Stefanie Fitzsimmons, Gr. 10: Stephanie is one of our most competitive swimmers. She has consistently swum under 30 seconds in the 50 free this season. She has even made a PR of 28 and under. AMAZING! Stephanie is always happy and energetic in practice and at meets…even when she has just learned that she has to swim the 500. Thanks for all your hardwork…Good luck at Platteville and Sectionals Football – Mikey Friedman, Gr. 12: Mikey is a hard worker that is getting better each week. He is willing to play on scout defense even though he is a starter on defense because he knows that it will help the team. He has handled adversity with a positive attitude and an approach for success. Keep up the good work Mikey! Boys Soccer – Erik Kernozek, Gr. 11: Erik has prepared diligently coming into this season by coming to open gyms and playing in the summer. He has worked hard, been receptive to playing a new position, and been a good leader for a young group. Volleyball – Laura Weber, Gr. 10: Laura demonstrates great character and work ethic. She has made tons of improvement from the start of the season up to now. Laura has an outstanding serve and she can place the ball anywhere we ask her to. She leads us in serving points and assists this season. Mid-way through the season Laura took on the role of running our offense and has done a great job leading us. Awesome job Laura! Keep up the good work:) Dance Team – Breanna Sanders, Gr. 12: Breanna has been a great tribute to our dance team this season. She is always working so hard and is extremely dedicated. We are very blessed to have her as a part of our team! Keep up the good work Breanna! Wrestling – Josh Kuhse, Gr. 10: Josh has been a real strong leader for the wrestling team this year. The younger, newer guys really look up to him and he works well teaching them a sport he has done his entire life. His attitude and hard work has really been contagious to the rest of the team. Congrats! Girls Basketball – Brittany Baldwin, Gr. 11: Brittany’s work ethic and intensity in practice has quickly made her a leader for our team. Her work in the offseason has her prepared for a very successful season. While Brittany is very talented on the basketball court, her greatest asset is her character. Her integrity and trustworthiness make her an easy choice for athlete of the month. Boy’s Swimming – Hudson Haley, Gr. 11: Hudson has just continued to improve each and every practice. His work ethic has been outstanding. His hard work has influenced our team to strive to perform at a higher level. Gymnastics – Courtney Garzee, Gr. 10: Cortney was selected to be athlete of the month because of her work ethic and attitude. She is on top of her game every day. Cortney is one of the hardest workers in the gym. Her smile and sense of humor make her shine. Want a laugh (or a piece of candy)? You can count on Cort! Hockey – Mike Londergan, Gr. 12: Mike was selected as one of the captains for the Red Rangers and has done a nice job leading the team early in the season. Mike works hard on and off the ice and the younger players on the team look up to him. Boys Basketball – Alex Hayden, Gr. 11: Alex has worked very hard this past year to improve his skills. He is quickly becoming one of the best shooters, not only on the team, but in the area. In addition to Alex’s success on the court, he is equally successful off the court. His character is simply second to none. Dance Team – Allison Secord, Gr. 12: Allison is one of the Captains for Basketball season and she has stepped it up during practice, fund raisers, and showing leadership in many ways. Recently she helped Coach Lisa present a funding request to the Booster Club that helped the Dance Team secure help from them and she showed true passion to them during her presentation. She steps it up at practice and goes out of her way to help other team members achieve their full potential. We are fortunate to have a great leader and team member like Allison on the team! WRESTLING: James Werner, Gr. 10: James has worked very hard in the off-season and has improved tremendously since last year. He recently took 3rd at the Mt. Horeb Scramble only losing to 2 top ranked wrestlers in the State. His attitude is great and has been very contagious to the rest of the team. Congrats! BOYS BASKETBALL: AronKlos, Gr. 12: AronKlos has done an excellent job this year. He works very hard each day in practice and it has shown in games as he simply gets better and better with each passing day. In addition, Aron is an outstanding student and is an excellent role model for all of the other players in our program. GIRLS BASKEBALL: Brooke Baldwin, Gr. 11: Brooke has been very important to our team so far this year. She has become a more vocal leader and works really hard to motivate her teammates. Her effort and intensity on the court has made her one of the best defenders in the conference. BOYS SWIMMING: Jake Walker, Gr. 12: Jake has been doing a great job this season. Jake gives 100 percent at our practices and has been improving all season. His work ethic has been a good example for our younger swimmers. LaCrosse swimming is a better team for having Jake as one of our swimmers! HOCKEY: Zack Brady, Gr. 11: Zack has done a nice job in net for us this year and has a 3-2 record going into games this week. Zach had 35 saves in a 2-1 win vs. La Crescent and continues to improve each week. DANCE TEAM: Emily Barteck, Gr. 10: Emily has shown outstanding dedication and hard work this season. She currently accepted her new position on competition team, in which she has worked very hard for. Congratulations Emily! We are so proud of you and keep up the good work! GYMNASTICS: Maya Crockett, Gr. 10: Maya works very hard in the gym. Her 1st season of gymnastics came last year and now she is competing JV all around. Maya is always looking to improve her routines with new skills and she attacks each event with little fear. Maya’s commitment and drive are going to take her very far in this sport. Congrats Maya, Justin and I are very proud of you.

Boys Swimming – Jason Tomten, Gr. 12: Jason has been on the swim team for 4 years and he has done a great job representing La Crosse swimming. His work ethic in practice and meets has been outstanding and he is always looking for ways to improve his times. Jason has been a joy to coach the past four years and will be missed next year by the athletes and coaching staff. Wrestling – Kyle Dalton, Gr. 10: Kyle has done a tremendous job committing himself to the sport by putting in extra time to work on his technique while practicing with a motivation to get better. Kyle’s recent record has reflected his hard work as he continues to perform well in tournaments. Hockey – Max Hengel, Gr. 9: Max has been our most consistent defensemen all season. Off the ice Max is heavily involved in helping with the cross ice program. Max has 9 points on the season and will be a big factor to the Red Rangers success down the stretch. Girls Basketball- Kayla Thilges, Gr. 11: Kayla Thilges has been a tremendous team player for us. For much of the season, Kayla was not getting very much play time. Despite this, Kayla worked hard in practice and kept improving her skills. As a result, Kayla is seeing more play time and has been giving us really good minutes. She has become a very important player for us who can give us a spark off the bench. Her team-first attitude and work ethic make her an easy selection for athlete of the month. Dance Team – Harley Pfaff, Gr. 9: Harley is an extremely dedicated dancer. She is always working hard to achieve her goals; even when injured she is involved with her team. Harley is an amazing dancer and we are so proud to have her as a part of our team. Good job Harley! Keep up the good work! Boys Basketball – Trevor Schultz, Gr. 12: Trevor has done an excellent job of living up to our Core Standards. He was faced with significant adversity this season by being injured early on. However, he handled it like a champion and continues to get better each and every day. In addition he does an outstanding job in the classroom and is an excellent role model. Girls Ski/Snowboard Team – Alice Gardner, Gr. 11: Alice is a very determined and dedicated ski racer. She continues to improve and gets the most out of her ability. Boys Ski/Snowboard Team – Jack Pretasky, Gr. 10: Jack has a lot of natural ability and a passion for snowboarding. He is mild mannered, yet fiercely competitive on the course. Boys Ski/Snowboard Team – Alex Farwell, Gr. 10: Alex has made significant improvement in his racing skills. He has worked hard on his technical and tactical approaches to skiing. He is a very focused and dedicated team member. Gymnastics – Talyah Schmidt, Gr. 11: Talyah has been a contributor to the Varsity team this year. She has earned her spot on both bars & floor. Talyah is also very good at helping the less experienced girls by giving them pointers and taking time to help them perfect skills. Great job Talyah!! You are a great teammate!
