Dance I Make-Up Assignment

1)Dance article review
Write a one-page summary of a Dance related magazine or newspaper article. Include the article, a basic outline of what was discussed in the article and a closing paragraph of your thoughts on the topic.
2)Visit one of the following dance web sitesand write a one page summary of the website (if you know of a different site, feel free to use it, note the website address)
Answer the following questions as part of your review:
What services does the site offer, targeting what age group, gender, etc…?
Are there costs involved for services provided? What are they? Do you feel that is inexpensive or expensive?
Explain why you chose this site and will you use it to maintain or increase your dance goals.
Did this site refer you to any additional sites for more information relating to dance?
3)Watch an MVHS sporting event
Write a one-page summary of the game/match. Include the level of the sport, the sport, date, time, location of the event, and strategy and/or game rules of the sport. Discuss highlights of the game and the outcome (who won).
Have a coach, teacher, or administrator sign your paper that you were there.
4)Keep an activity log during your vacation
If you will be on vacation, keep a daily activity log. Include the following:
What activity did you do each day?
How long was the activity?
Who did you do the activity with?
Where was the activity done?
Was the activity related to dance?
Would you do this activity if you were at home?
Have you done this activity before, or was this the first time you have done it?
Would you do this activity again?
5)Attend a Class at a Dance Studio or Gym
Write a one-page summary of a class that you attended at a local dance studio or gym. Include the name of the studio or gym, the name of the teacher, the type of class you took (i.e., ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop), how long the class was, and what you learned during the class. Was this the first time that you attended this class? If yes, why did you choose to take this class? Would you take this class again? Why/Why not?
Have the teacher sign your paper that you were there.
6)Watch a Dance Movie and Write a Review
Watch a movie that has dance in it & write a review in a current event style. Who were the main characters, what was the plot & what style of dance was used, where did the movie take place, when did the movie take place. Tell me about the costumes & music that were also used in the movie. A few movie suggestions are listed below. You may also use one of your own that is not on the list.
