Dallastown Boys’ Volleyball Booster Club
Committee Responsibilities:
1 Wildcat Invitational
-Organize all areas of tournament:
-Chair acts as Tournament Director
-working with the coach to bracket play and record results
-secure;
-concession stand workers
-ticket takers
-security
-acquire trophies
2. Concession Stand
-Inventory supplies
-purchase items to sell
- purchase supplies to operate, organize, and run stand
- schedule Booster Club members to cover times of regular games and post season
(JV parents for Varsity and Varsity for JV)
-write up and display plans of operation
-plan for one person who handles the money at the stand so others can keep their
hands clean for serving.
-Coverage schedule should be prepared for parent sign up at March meeting
-clean and organize stand on regular basis
-count money and submit to Treasurer
-written inventory at the end of the season
3. Membership
-create membership form to be placed in information packet (March meeting)
-discuss membership and benefits at Meet the time night
-collect dues and prepare a complete list of members and contact information.
-contact families to encourage participation
4. Spirit
-responsible for boosting the spirit of players in preparation for competition
-decorate student lockers
-decorate gym and volleyball areas as deemed
-etcetera
5. Apparel
-design / acquire designs – for team clothing that is not provided by the school
-contact and work with apparel providers
-organize athlete orders and distribute accordingly
- tournament t-shirts
- work with seniors to pick colors and designs
6. Program / Patron Ads
-Create programs for all home games and the Wildcat Invitational Tournament
-create patron ad information page for information packet (March meeting)
7. Nominating
-responsible for acquiring candidates for Executive Board positions
8. Scholarship
- Vice President – unless a Senior Parent
-adjust scholarship materials to reflect current year
-personally distribute material packet to each senior by mid April
*Only seniors who have had family members join the booster club EACH year the
athlete has participated in volleyball are eligible for the scholarship.
-collect said material
-distribute collected materials to Scholarship committee for review and selection
-create a certificate for award winner to be given at the year end banquet.
9. Senior Night
-To be coordinated by all the Junior parents
-decorate gym
- get flowers for parents
-organize program (boys’ comments, invitees, refreshments following game)
10. Banquet
-Acquire location for year end banquet
-select meal
-organize program for banquet- to be discussed with President who acts as MC
-acquire decorations, senior gifts, underclassmen gifts, coach’s gifts
-implement program – have needed equipment, sound system, etc.
- acquire AWARDS at the direction of the coach… these are to include, but are not
limited to: Most improved , Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year,
Unsung Hero, Spirit Award, and Manager of the Year.
11. Video
-acquire photographs and video of season (can be obtained from families)
-put collected photos into a presentation format for viewing at year end banquet
-order / make copies for sale at banquet
-create “clips” to be broadcast during morning announcements at the high school
12. Audit
-review Treasurer’s books and accounts
-submit an audit report to the School District by the end of July.
13. Tailgate
-organize meals for the team prior to away contests
14. Teacher Appreciation Night
-have seniors select a teacher who had the greatest impact
-assist boys as needed in write ups
-invite teachers
-create plaques for teachers
-order flowers and balloons for honorees
-organize program
15. Website Committee – In addition to a Website Chair, two board members should have site access.
-At the head coach’s discretion, acquire Dallastown I.T. department access to district
volleyball home page as a site administrator.
-post timely material relevant to the team, booster club and school on Volleyball Website.
