GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Urban Farm Fundraiser - We will be selling Organic apples, Caramel Apples and Rice Krispy treats on Tuesday before and after school in front of the attendance office.

Homecoming Special in the Rocket Cafe! Tuesday - Friday, for every drink you purchase, you get a free cookie!

Homecoming Guest passes are available in the activity office, Rm. 321. Anyone who is bringing a guest that does not attend Neenah H.S. must have aguest pass filled out and returned to Mrs. Dohr no later thanWed., September 30th.

Registration for the PSAT/MNSQT test is taking place right now.If you are interested in taking the PSAT/MNSQT, please sign up with Mrs. Buss in the Counseling Office. Space is limited and on a first come, first serve basis. Registration will close onOctober 9, 2015. The cost is $20.00 and is due at time of registration.

Why should a student take the PSAT/NMSQT?

1. To find out what the SAT is like

2. To predict SAT and ACT scores from the PSAT score

3. To enter the competition for scholarships that are awarded through the National Merit Scholarship Program

Please note: Students must take the NMSQT test during their junior year to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship Program, and PSAT/NMSQT results will be distributed in December.

Attention Students: Anyone interested in mentoring an elementary or middle school student on Mondays after school should pick up an application from Mrs. Nass’s desk in the Main office. The program is held at Neenah Highon Mondayfrom3:30-4:30 pmstarting in November!

TheYELLOWSTONE Adventureis coming in June of 2016! An informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015in High School Commons at7:00pm. Do youwant to visit Yellowstone National Park and see the geysers, canyons, hot springs, the colorful Grand Prismatic and watch the buffalo roam? Do you want to enjoy the view of the Grand Tetons, swim in the Great Salt Lake, and walk up to the Continental Divide? How about sleep along the Snake River with the Grand Tetons in the background after white water rafting down the Snake River? The Fall Musical, Joseph and the Amazing, Technicolor Dreamcoat, will be presented on October 15, 16, 17, 23, 24 and 25. Tickets cost $10.00 (adults), $8.00 (students/seniors).

Note on students getting jobs – all students under the age of 18 are required to obtain a work permit after they are hired, but before they start working. Work permits cost $10.00. The student is required to have a letter from the employer, showing that they have been hired, and a parent signature somewhere on that letter, and their social security card. They should bring all these things either to City Hall in Neenah, or to Mrs. Pierce at Door 3 at the high school to obtain the permit.

HOMECOMING 2015

Neenah High School will celebrate Homecoming 2015 during the week of September 28 – October 3. The theme for this year’s event is “Wish-N”, as the students are hoping to raise $15,000.00 to grant three wishes through the Make A Wish foundation. Here is a schedule of the week’s events:

ORGANIZATIONS AND MEETINGS:

The Debate Team will meet in the ARC every Monday from 6pm-8pm. Anyone who is interested in debate should stop in!

Knitting Club meets Mondays from3:30 pm – 5:00 pmin room 322. Please see Mrs. Uvaas for details.

The Urban Farm Club will meet on Mondays in room 404. Please see Mrs. Dorschner or Mrs. Rogers with any questions.

The AFS Club meets on Monday after school in room 164B from3:25-3:45. Please see Mrs. Counter for further information.

Action, Humor, Drama, Anime Club has it all. We meet on Mondaysin room 200 after school. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the exciting world of Anime.

CONGRATULATIONS:

Congratulations to the Cross Country Team: Neenah swept the team titles at the Winneconne Invite last week. The boys totaled 21 points for a 40-point win over Appleton East in the five-team meet as Michael Bourland won the individual title and Bradley Gumtow was second. The girls had 56 points and edged Appleton East by eight points in the six-team field.

Congratulations to the Boys Soccer Team: The Rockets posted two wins last week and remained unbeaten in the FVA.

Congratulations to the Girls Tennis Team: The Rockets crushed a pair of FVA opponents last week with 7-0 victories over Appleton North and Kaukauna for their fourth consecutive unbeaten FVA regular season. Neenah has now won 35 straight conference duals and outscored its opponents 62-1 for the season. The Rockets are ranked sixth in the state
