Procedure: Observe a minimum of two animals per 1 hour of production (small plants). Note: More animals can be observed in a single hour, so that the daily average is two or more per hour (minimum 10 /day). Observe operations in the restrainer or stun box, lead up (single file) chute, crowd pen and bleed area. Use the criteria below to score your findings. Notify the line supervisor if deficiencies are observed and immediate action is needed. If necessary, complete an Animal Welfare Corrective Action Form. Use codes below to complete the table.
