The meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM by President, Cherie Slinger

Principal’s Report

- Beverly requested the District Safety Department come for a campus walk through

  • This will take place on Thursday, 3/13 from 1:30-3:00
  • They are looking at all gates around the school, especially on the back field
  • All doors in the district will be replaced in the next year so they will lock from the inside

- Last day of school is now June 13th

  • This will be a minimum day
  • Notices will go home soon
  • The rest of the week, besides Wednesday, will be full days

- Assessments for upper grades will start after Spring Break – testing is now computerized

- Transitional Kinder will start at Dailard next year

- Open House

  • March 20th
  • Beverly will talk to Mack about putting up ropes and clips for teachers to hang up their own art work in the quad

- 5th graders are going to Patrick Henry on March 27th for a STEM project

- 2nd and 3rd grade teams went to Learning Headquarters – Common Core Curriculum training

- All teachers went last week to a talk on Common Core

- Afterschool golf program will start after Spring Break – it will be a 7 week program

- Choice applications were due on February 15th (March 7th for Transitional Kinder)

President Report

- Waiting to hear on Mountain Mike’s for final amount

- Scrip

- Lorie’s friend e-mailed multiple pages of tips

- If pay 99$/year can add local businesses to the order form

- Motion to implement the program

- Review of 3 logos and symbolism/meaning behind each

- John is working on a new date

- Bib numbers have been ordered

- Karen will send an email requesting volunteers

- Last day of school changed to June 13th

- Jog a Thon Awards Assembly – April 11th at 1:15

- Motion to spend up to $200 in food service for Dailard Families suffering a loss

- Summer Camp

- Jodi will set up a meeting with the teachers who are interested in camp

- Last 2 weeks will include Transitional Kinder and Kinder

- Cherie will look into other options for on-line registration

Teachers report

- Teachers grants

- 2nd grade thought they were mischarged for their zoo bus trip, but had already used their bus funds for the aquarium

- 3rd grade is taking the bus to Cabrillo March 20th and April 8th

- Anna will talk to Karen about pending bus charges

- 4th grade is over budget on book grant money, classroom grants can be used towards this

- Math Frenzy

- Pros and cons were discussed

- Decided to not go with the program

- Teachers will ask others what they would wish to buy with Scrip money

- Teachers will ask 5th grade teachers for the approximate number of students who cannot afford yearbooks

Community Liaison

- Open House

- Flyer is going out this week

- Bring in crock pots the morning of or day before

- Frank and Lorie will put items in the crock pots at lunch time

- Hospitality

- Teacher appreciation will be an Olympic theme with food from different countries

- Art Night

- Wednesday, May 7th

- 30 people maximum

- They will leave half of Trails open

- Trying to get a wine vendor in for tasting

- $30 per person

- Rummage Sale

- Looking for volunteers to help Sara sort on the 19th

- Storing items in room 47

A&E

- Jog a Thon

- Made $30,000+

- Awards Assembly is April 11th

- Auction

- Basket lists are out

- April 11th at 6pm is the basket wrapping party in the multipurpose room

- Holiday Bazaar

- Need a chair for next year

- Spring Fling

- Vendors are booked

- Maya is working on the food trucks

- Flyer is ready to go and will be sent out soon

- Volunteers are needed to help with set-up on April 18th and to help collect cake walk items

- Box Tops

- $768.20 + $17.51 from on-line credits

- Brings the total for the year to $1696.44

- Sheila may need to start turning people away due to the number of requests

- Received large donation of seeds

Visual and Performing Arts

- Irish dancers are not available for St. Patrick’s day

- Mobile Dairy is booked through the rest of the school year so Anoushka booked them for September 19th

- Jazz assembly will be May 23rd

- Anoushka will talk to 5th grade teachers about Edu Dance for next year

Technology

- Yearbook

- Decided to order 10-15 extra copies or enough to get to price break

- Idea to set up a yearbook table at Open House

- Table after school to sell extras at end of year

- A list of those who have bought yearbooks will be posted

Treasurers Report

- We are currently about $6000 in the black

- Professional development

- Requesting additional funds ($6000 max)

- Will table until we know exact amount requested

Communications

- Needs information for next newsletter by March 24th

- Wednesday Folders –

- To reorder exactly as was – will cost $510.84 for 600

- Teachers will ask 5th grade teachers if they want 5th grade planners
