I have the pleasure to confirm the participation of your organization, as observer, in the Eighth Session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, scheduled to take place from 18 to 29 May 2009 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
On arrival at the United Nations Headquarters, representatives of accredited entities (organizations of indigenous peoples, non-governmental organizations and academic institutions) requiring ground passes for admission to the United Nations premises are advised to go through the Visitors Entrance, at 46th Street and 1st Avenue, where they will find a team of staff members from the Division for Social Policy and Development (DSPD) available to assist them with the registration process. Registration will tentatively take place beginning on Friday, 15 May from 10a.m. to 3:45pm. It will continue on Saturday 16 May, from 12:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. On Monday 18 it will take place from 8:30a.m. to 3:45p.m. From Tuesday 19 and for the duration of the Forum, registration may be conducted from 9:00a.m. to 3:45p.m.every day. Depending on the pace of registration, the Registration Desk may close from 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. for lunch-break. Participants attending only side-events should register earlier in the morning before the holding of those events. Under no circumstances will registration be conducted solely for side-events held from 1:15p.m. to 2:45p.m.
