ITESS ADMISSION PROCEDURE
APPLICATION
If you would like to be admitted to the ITESSprogramme, you send an email to expressing your intention to register as an ITESS student. You will then be informed when and how you can officially register through the Dutch central registration site Studielink.
Please register between 1st March and 1st May 2018. If you register between 1st May and 15th August,
you also ask for information at about the quickest way to proceed
After registration, NHL Stenden will ask international students to send copies/scans of relevant non-Dutch diploma’s and results . In case you have not yet obtained your diploma or results, you can registerif you expect to have them before 1st September 2018.
After registration, you send a CV and a short motivation letter to (See next page). You will be invited to a (skype)meeting with one of the ITESS team members. They will ask for your expectations, your motivation and any international or cross-cultural experiences. They may also ask for clarification of diploma’s and results.
ITESS has a list of recognised qualifications per country. If your diploma and results for English and subject knowledge meet the descriptions in the list, you still need to send us your CV and motivation letter.
If your diploma or results are a little below the indicated standards in the list, admission may be possible in combination with a good motivation letter and CV. You can ask for more information about this possibility at

ADMISSION
Within a week after your meeting with one of the team members, ITESS will send you news about your admission.
Admission becomes definite whenall relevant diploma’s and resultshave been shown and validated and the programme is considered suitable for you.
CV (Curriculum Vitae: maximum two pages)

Motivation letter (Minimum 300 words)
-Reasons why you would like to become an ITESS student (for example: programme, setting, teaching profession)
-Experience and characteristics that make you suitable for the ITESSprogramme
For example:
language skills,
international and intercultural experience,
personal qualities and preferences
Use information from your CV if possible.

ITESS will consider admission to the programme for all students whose diploma and results match the description per country below.
If your country is not listed below, please send an email to nd if possible, enclose a copy/scan of your diploma and the results for English and for History or Mathematics or German.
If your country is listed below, but your diploma and/or results do not match the description per country, you can send an email to asking for information. If possible, you enclose a copy/scan of your diploma and the results for English and for History or Mathematics or German.ITESS will carefully consider every request.

International tests of English
Minimum results for recognised international tests:
•Academic IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.0 for each skill)
•TOEFL 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based) and 80 (internet based)
•Cambridge ESOL score CAE-C.

Subject knowledge of German.
Students who want to study German are expected to enter the programme with a command of German language skills at level B2 of the European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
Goethe Zertifikat B2 gives a good indication of the expected entrance level.

Dutch language skills
Dutch language skills are no admission requirement.
ITESS offers free supplementary classes in Dutch as a second language. The Dutch classes are intended for international students with little or no prior knowledge of Dutch.
