Update on introduction of an additional CCP to post-trade processing of central counterparty trades settled in CREST

The purpose of this announcement is to inform members of a delay to the planned introduction of European Central Counterparty N.V (“EuroCCP”) as a provider of Central Counterparty (“CCP”) services to London Stock Exchange’s SETS and SETSqx order books from Monday 23 March 2015, as previously announced by Service Announcement 001/11122014.

The enforced delay is as a result of information received from the CCPs involved. Whilst the CCPs have made considerable progress with respect to this project, further time is needed to address risk considerations that need to be resolved between them and in consultation with their regulators.

Technical work by London Stock Exchange to support this project remains on track and we will continue to work closely with the CCPs involved to understand when they will have the necessary procedures and approvals in place. Details of a revised launch date will be provided in due course.
