Safeguards the compressor and provides instant status monitoring.

High Output and Economy

The high output compression element contains a single rotor, the only major moving part, supported by white metal bearings. Designed for direct coupling to a high efficiency 4 pole (1760rpm) electric motor, the result is efficient compressed air generation with low energy costs.

Standard motor speeds eliminate the need for belts and gears and the losses associated with them.

The compression element itself is manufactured on the latest CNC machine tools, and inspected using accurate 3D monitoring technology.

Accurate machining methods and low operational speeds ensure a long trouble free life.

Control and Instrumentation

The CompAir compressors are available with either automatic or regulated speed control.

The compressor package is safeguarded with a silicon sensor, motor thermistor, and overload. The attached schedule provides a full list of all the parameters and functions available via the control panel.

The automatic controller features stop/start control, hours counter, operating mode selector switch, warning light and pressure gauge. The air end and motor are safeguarded with thermistors.

Energy Saving Regulation

The air intake regulation system matches supply with demand by loading and unloading the compressor automatically in response to changes in system pressure.

Dual operating modes are a standard feature of automatic models ensuring an optimum match for your application.

Auto idle mode virtually eliminates off load running allowing the compressor to consume less than 30% of full power before stopping.

Manual mode of operation lends itself to users with constant air demands where a continuous air net pressure is required for sensitive downstream equipment.

During periods of low demand a timer is activated and the compressor stops and waits in standby mode until demand increases.

Regulated Speed on the RS compressors exactly matches the speed of the motor to the system demand.

This method of operation can reduce energy costs by up to 50%.

Drive Arrangement

The compression element is directly driven by a high efficiency TEFC, EpAct compliant electric motor.

The drive motor is protected by thermistors embedded in the motor windings.

Ensures full compressor availability thereby maximizing production productivity.

Matches compressor output to system demand and eliminates unnecessary unloaded running to save on electrical costs.

The direct drive arrangement avoids losses associated with conventional gear and belt drive systems.

EpAct compliant motors ensure minimal running costs

Optimum cooling ensures low operating temperatures and enables the compressor to operate with maximum compression efficiency and minimum power input reducing electrical costs.

Cooling and Ventilation

Oil circulates through the compressor for cooling, lubricating and sealing. It passes through the oil cooler and then through a ‘spin on’ filter before being injected into the compression chamber and bearings. A thermostatically controlled oil bypass valve is fitted to ensure that the compressor reaches normal operating temperature as soon as possible after start-up.

The lightweight aluminum air-cooled oil cooler and hp air after cooler are manufactured using high performance extended surface heat exchange tubing.

Optimum cooling ensures low operating temperatures and enables the compressor to operate with maximum compression efficiency and minimum power input reducing electrical costs.

Air Intake Filtration

An air intake filter protects the compressor against potentially damaging airborne particles.

Oil Separation

A generously sized multi-stage air / oil separation system combines a mechanical separator and coalescing element to remove residual oil from the air.

Silenced Package

The impressive noise levels of the open frame unit, can be further improved with the addition of a sound attenuated enclosure kit.

An additional cooling air noise suppressor is available for both open and enclosed units

Reduced Maintenance

The compressors have been designed to minimise the number of consumable parts and provide extended service intervals.

Effective intake filtration protects the compression element and ensures long reliable operation

Efficient separation ensures extremely low oil carry over and high quality compressed air supply.

Low noise and virtually no vibration allow installation adjacent to the production environment and eliminates the need for compressor houses, special foundations and lengthy pipe runs thus reducing installation costs.

Reduced maintenance requirements minimise service and parts costs.

Servicing downtime can be pre-planned so as not to disrupt normal production.

Planned Maintenance Capability

The control system provides indication of any requirement for routine servicing enabling servicing to be pre-planned for minimum disruption.
