CLINICAL SERVICE CONTRIBUTIONS:

1.  Creation and establishment of the Pediatric Department at the Mennonite Christian Hospital, Taiwan 1981.

2.  Creation and establishment of “Total Care Team” for children with cancer (a comprehensive multidisciplinary care and follow-up service) at the Mennonite Christian Hospital, Taiwan, and Founder of Childhood Leukemia Foundation, Hualien, Taiwan. Recipient of the Outstanding Physician Award by the County Medical Association, and Outstanding Social Service Award by a civil organization, 1982.

3.  Facilitation and coordination of comprehensive care for children with cancer in the University of South Alabama. Serving as the Director of USA Children’s Cancer Center since 1992. Recipient of Miracle Maker Award of Children’s Miracle Network in 1994.

4.  Coordination of clinical service and clinical research for the U.S. Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center from 1993 to 1998. Recipient of Outstanding Contribution Award, University of South Alabama Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center in 1998.

5.  Provision and coordination of the multidisciplinary treatment program for hemophilia and congenital coagulopathies at the Mobile Hemophilia Treatment Center, Alabama State Children’s Rehabilitation Service. Recipient of Distinguished Service Award from Children’s Rehabilitation Services, Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Service in 1995.

6.  Directing and supervising the overall Pediatric Hematology/Oncology service at the U.S. Children’s and Women’s Hospital and Pediatric Specialty Clinics which serve as the referral center for the tri-state gulf region.
