WORK EXPERIENCE

Self-employed 2006-Present

In 2006, I started up my own company undertaking small jobs for people in the local area. These projects have included building an extension, gutting a house, and the removal of walls and roof to later rebuild it. I have also carried out some work for Henry Peat at Wintney Barn including the building of manholes, painting, concreting, and drainage and building retaining walls. I am left to manage myself alongside other workers.

Perry Builders 2000-2006

I worked for Perry Builders for 6 years. Whilst there I was involved in various projects, such as small extensions, roofing and plastering, and in 2005, helped build three houses in Cornwall over the space of 10 months. Here I supervised a team of 4, ensuring that the work was carried out correctly.

Bill Smith 1998-2000

For 2 years I worked for Bill Smith in Brixton renovating an old housing block, which was damaged in the Brixton riots.

Apex Builders 1994-1998

During my time at Apex Builders, I worked on a number of interesting projects including doing brickwork on the set of Eastenders. I also gained experience building a boundary wall at Broadmoor Prison, and was part of the team employed to build a retirement home, where I took on the role of a finishing foreman.

Artisan Builders 1989-1994

Whilst doing my apprenticeship on block release at college, I worked full-time for Artisan Builders where I learned bricklaying, patio laying, pointing, roofing, tiling, plastering, setting out foundations, and concreting. When I had finished my apprenticeship I was invited to stay on but decided to leave to gain more experience and speed.
