Proposal Summary / The purpose of this proposal is to revise the CP in Medical Office Administrationto give students the option to choose courses best suited for their career plans.
This will give students the option of 9 courses to choose from. HIT 1003 Data Content and Structure was added after this CP was first developed. This course basically would replace the MGMT2403 Records Management Course as it covers the medical field data management.
Also, BUS 1133 Keyboarding Essentials is a prerequisite for Bus 1213 Information Processing and would give students a better foundation for developing computer processing skills.
Need for the proposal / Many students have shown a great interest in acquiring this CP; however, since the options were limited and some of the courses are only offered either Fall or Spring, there was a problem when a course did not make, which prevented the student from completing the CP.
This is an 18 hour Certificate of Proficiency.
Skills learned may provide the student the ability to proficiently work in a medical office environment.
