Standards-Based Grading Work Team (NEM, SWM)
Dates: / Three tier approach to the display in IC:
Tier 1: The four strands of Reading Literature, Reading Informational Text, Writing, Listening/Speaking, and Language
Tier 2: Priority standards per strand (to remain the same throughout the year for continued focus and maximum flexibility. Update from SWM:
·  Talked with Craig and the department about which standards to select. Considered more aligning with the HS’s standards.
·  Wondered if they could have a standards-based report card, instead of having to convert to letter grades. How does it work with GPA and Sentinel Star (a certain GPA for a number of years).
·  Kevin and Lisa Merideth are willing to support just reporting on the standards. Need approval from SAT.
·  Sent out a survey to the department about SBG perceptions and preferences.
·  100% said that they would be interested in working on SBG.
·  Need clarity around reporting vs teaching standards.
